Welcome! Hardware Analysis is something we’ve aspired to do and talked about often over the past few years, but couldn’t get around to due to lack of funds, no time and non-compete clauses in our contracts. However, all of that is behind us now, and for the past three months we’ve worked hard to create a new web site and a company that’s under our own control and supervision. Hardware Analysis, the web site, has all the ingredients we feel matter, and combines many forms of internet user interaction to enable users worldwide to chat, send messages and comment on just about anything on the web site. As a result we have all that’s needed to create a large online community that transcends borders, time zones and even whole continents. And naturally we’re very excited to spread the word and start building that community.

Hardware Analysis is a new site, and as such the focus of Hardware Analysis will be somewhat different from what you're used to from other computer hardware web sites on the web. Why else would we bother, if we weren’t going for something new, right? What do we have to offer that others don’t? Well, as was evident from numerous phone calls and emails to different manufacturers but also talking to many industry analysts and computer users like yourself there's something missing in most of the current hardware reviews, articles and hardware sites in general.

Most of these hardware sites focus on product testing and generally do so over a short period of time, usually less than a couple of days. However testing a product for such a short time doesn’t tell you anything about the product's MTBF (Mean Time Before Failure) or long-term stability. Neither does it need any further explanation that testing a product for such a short time will not reveal any of its problems or odd behavior other than the most pronounced flaws or shortcomings. And none of them look at the end-user experience at all, what happens once a product does not work right out of the box? What happens if you have to go through tech support etc. to get it up and running?

With Hardware Analysis we'd like to step up to the plate and start looking at computers, components, parts, peripherals, but also whole systems with a much broader perspective including tech support and long term testing. We now have a team of well educated and experienced people that have earned their marks in the industry and have the knowledge, the expertise and the proper perspective to start addressing these issues and take product testing and evaluation to the next level, in order to provide our users with the best possible advice and articles available on the web.

The staff members of Hardware Analysis may be familiar faces if you’ve ever read any articles on either Hardware Central or Sharky Extreme. As the people that’ll be running Hardware Analysis as well as creating its content have earned their marks with working for either or both these publications. So if you’re interested to learn more, and would like to become a registered user at Hardware Analysis and maybe take on an active role in our community, you’re more than welcome to come on in and try out all of those new features, we’d be happy to have you!
