The KT133A Chipset

The KT133A is VIAs follow-up to the original KT133 chipset, with the major difference between the two being the formers support for a 133 MHz (266 MHz DDR) Front Side Bus.

The KT133A is built on the familiar Northbridge/Southbridge architecture that weve seen used for the last few years. In such a design, the Northbridge is responsible for processor, memory, and graphics control, while the Southbridge, which connects to the Northbridge via the PCI bus, is responsible for I/O functions (IDE, PCI, USB, etc.). The KT133A is comprised of the VT8363A Northbridge, and VT82C686B Southbridge." alt="VIA KT133A" border=0>
