The box contents are fairly standard. Iwill includes an installation CD, and an FDD and two IDE cables. RAID drivers are provided on a separate diskette, and are omitted from the DVD266 package, versus the DVD266-R. Iwill provides a bag of spare jumpers, in case you drop one or two.
We’d like to take a moment to talk about Iwill’s User’s Manual. There are a great deal of grammatical errors. Not one or two or three, but rather more like three or four per page. In fact, the actual content of the manual is quite good, it’s very thorough, as Iwill manuals usually are, the mistakes are purely grammatical. They certainly do not affect the information within the manual, as it’s still easy to understand, and it’s likely that quite a few people wouldn’t even notice the mistakes. Nevertheless, it’s unprofessional. Opening a page to be greeted with four glaring errors does not inspire confidence. We would encourage Iwill to have someone proof read the manual.
Installation was a bit tricky due to some layout issues, which we’ll discuss in a little bit. Those aside, we encountered no difficulties. As always, we recommend installing VIA’s 4-in-1 drivers, followed by video drivers, and DirectX, for optimal system performance and stability.
