Nec Releases The Next Generation of its XT5000 Projector.
  Oct 04, 2001, 09:48pm EDT

Itasca, Ill., October 4, 2001 – NEC Technologies, Inc. today introduced the XT5100, the next generation of the groundbreaking XT5000 and the newest offering from the company's growing family of Nighthawk Series High Light Output (HLO) projection systems. It enhances the XT5000's innovative design while maintaining its price point, providing users with greater value.

"We received a tremendous response to the award-winning XT5000, our initial Nighthawk Series projector," said Joe Azzarello, projection systems product manager for Visual Systems at NEC Technologies. "The XT5100 replaces that model, maintaining the reliability, flexibility and compact form factor that users embraced in the XT5000 with the added advantage of increased lens indexing capabilities."

At 4,500 ANSI lumens, the XT5100 has the brightness for a wide range of applications including arenas, auditoriums, concert halls, theme parks, classrooms, boardrooms, gaming venues and other applications where images are viewed by audiences. It offers XGA resolution (1024 x 768) and can provide detailed and focused non-native resolution source displays up to UXGA (1600 x 1200) thanks to Advanced Accublend Intelligent Pixel Blending Technology, which not only enhances image quality but also protects the projector against future obsolescence.

The XT5100 also features NEC's exclusive VORTEX Technology for data and graphic displays with superior uniformity, color and contrast, as well as video displays with greater depth, detail, brighter whites and more realistic colors.

NEC's new projector is designed to be easy to transport, operate and store. The XT5100 is compact and light at only 95 lbs. and features a wide variety of inputs for tremendous installation flexibility. It incorporates NEC's exclusive AutoSense technology, which automatically optimizes incoming computer and video signals, eliminating time-consuming manual adjustments. In addition, the lens indexing feature saves significant setup time by storing key lens positions in the projector's memory. The XT5100 is designed to be compatible with XT5000 lenses, reducing costs by eliminating the need for additional lens purchases by current XT5000 users.

Availability

The XT5100 is now available through authorized rental, staging, corporate and ProAV integrators. The suggested retail price of the projector is $42,995. For more information about the XT5100, visit http://www.nectech.com or call 1-877-NEC-EDIT.

Nighthawk Line

The growing Nighthawk family is comprised of six distinct products, making NEC's overall projector line the broadest in the industry with a projector for every large screen display requirement. The Nighthawk product line, made famous for its flexible designs and highly reliable usage, includes three XGA native resolution projectors: the XT4100, XT5100 and XT9000, and three SXGA native resolution projectors: the SX4000, SX6000 and SX10000.
