NEC Introduces The First Integrated Five-in-One Projector.
  Oct 22, 2001, 02:10pm EDT

New DT100 Performs Five Display Functions, Including Projection of Computer Source Material, Video, Documents, Transparencies and 3D Objects from Single Integrated Source

ITASCA, Ill., October 22, 2001 - NEC Technologies today introduced the DT100, the first projector to provide an integrated five-in-one projection solution. The DT100 gives users the functionality of separate digital and overhead projectors in one product, streamlining user hardware needs for substantially increased savings, convenience and space conservation. The projector also enhances traditional overhead capabilities by enabling direct overhead projection of documents and 3D objects, providing a new level of versatility to classroom, corporate training room, courtroom and law office users.

"The DT100 is the first projector to enable users to project data, video, documents, 3D objects and transparencies onto the screen from a single integrated source," said Don Fasick, portable projector product manager for Visual Systems at NEC Technologies. "It also gives users the full functionality of both overhead and digital desktop projectors in a product half the weight of the two projector types purchased separately. And the DT100's incorporated document camera lets users directly project documents and forgo the expensive transparencies required by a traditional overhead projector, resulting in significant user savings over the life of the product."

The projector's overhead projection feature utilizes a two-million-pixel single-plate color CCD camera for high-resolution and realistic original color reproduction. Users can easily place documents, transparencies, or even 3D objects such as circuit boards, coins and lab objects onto the flat bed atop the DT100 and project the images onto the screen. The projector's zoom capabilities allow fine text and other details to be easily enlarged without moving the projector, giving users the ability to adapt the image size to their satisfaction.

The 18.7-lb. DT100 produces a bright 3250 ANSI lumens as well as vivid data and video images. The DT100 also incorporates AutoSense technology, enabling users to switch between display modes with the touch of a button for easy setup and operation. And the XGA native resolution projector's AccuBlend technology allows users to easily project non-native resolution sources up to SXGA.

Complete Service and Support Program

The DT100 is backed by NEC Technologies' industry-leading InstaCare service program. Two years of InstaCare coverage comes standard with each projector, giving users the assurance of repair and return service in three business days.

Pricing and Availability

The DT100 is now shipping through NEC Technologies' authorized professional audio-visual dealers, strategic system integrators, rental/staging partners, indirect resellers and mass distributors. The suggested retail price for the DT100 is $10,995. For more information about NEC's new projector, call 1-877-NEC-EDIT or visit http://www.nectech.com
