Our ScienceMark scores are beginning to show some poorer scaling at higher clockspeeds. Remember that our testbeds are only equipped with PC800 RDRAM, as that's the only speed officially supported by Intel. PC1066 RDRAM would boost the scores significantly, especially on the higher speed systems. Clearly, official PC1066 and Dual Channel DDR support can't get here fast enough.

As a raw measure of CPU power, MadOnion's PCMark scales well as clockspeed increases. This gives a good representation of the performance gains possible when code can fit entirely within the CPU's 512KB on-die cache.

Video encoding continues to be one of the Pentium 4's strong suits, as performance scales well here. Again, more memory bandwidth will help the processor even moreso here.
