Welcome back to Hardware Analysis. After a long flight that almost spanned the globe I made it safely to the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose where I’ll be setting up camp for the duration of IDF Fall 2002. Although the conference starts on Monday morning we’re here a little early to fight the dreaded jetlag and prepare for things to come. What can you expect from us in the coming week? A host of things actually, naturally we’ll be bringing you daily updates of what is being talked about at the conference and spice that up with lots of photos and streaming video just like we did with IDF Spring 2002.

Things that’ll be talked about during the conference are of course Intel’s Pentium 4 processor and the pending introduction of Hyper Threading on the desktop. Furthermore the exhibition floor will also feature a product showcase by a host of well known manufacturers which will present their latest products. And naturally Intel will go into further detail about their mobile roadmap with Banias and Calexio technologies and new research that has been put towards alternative sources of energy for portable computing. Other topics that’ll be discussed are the advances made in wireless computing and mobile computing as well as other technologies that'll debut this year. We'll be providing you with daily updates from the showfloor with streaming video and pictures so do check back tomorrow for the first update.
