The Drivers

By: Dan Mepham

Drivers have historically been one of nVidia's stronger points, and one of ATi's weaker ones. We spent a fair amount of time with the R9700 Pro's new drivers, and are pleased to report that they behaved very well in our tests. This is not to say the drivers are perfect. Naturally we cannot make such a blanket statement given our relatively short testing period, however we did get a sense of quality from the drivers. Nevertheless, those to whom driver compatibility is of the utmost importance may still wish to wait until there are a few more R300-based products out there, so more reliable data on possible conflicts or bugs can be collected. Below are some screenshots of the latest drivers.
