Welcome back to Hardware Analysis. After a long flight that spanned half the globe I made it safely to the Hilton Hotel in San Jose where I’ll be setting up camp for the duration of IDF Spring 2003. Although the conference starts on Tuesday at noon we’re here a little early to fight the dreaded jetlag and prepare for things to come. What can you expect from us in the coming week? A host of things actually, naturally we’ll be bringing you daily updates of what is being talked about at the conference and spice that up with lots of photos and streaming video just like we did with previous IDFs.

Things that’ll be talked about during the conference are of course Intel’s Pentium 4 processor and the pending introduction of the 200MHz FSB and Springdale chipset, Centrino technology for notebooks and naturally a broad slew of other new products and technologies. Furthermore the exhibition floor will also feature a product showcase by a host of well known manufacturers which will present their latest products. And naturally Intel will go into further detail about their CPU roadmap with the new 200MHz FSB Pentium 4, the Pentium-M and Itanium 2. Other topics that’ll be discussed are the advances made in wireless and mobile computing. We'll be bringing you live updates every day from the showfloor with streaming video and pictures and as much interesting information we manage to gather, so do check back tomorrow for the first update.
Sander Sassen.
