Security, Nxs Internet By: Sander Sassen |
Naturally a datacenter such as we visited is hosting a large number of servers, and thus represents a significant investment on part of the customer, but possibly more important is the fact that these servers need to be kept up and running at all times. Therefore there’s 24-hr security available that’ll only let people in that have authorization and a proper photo-id. This means that the 24-hr access to your server TeleCity offers will always require identification and a technician bringing you to your server for servicing.
As we mentioned in our previous article about what server hardware Hardware Analysis is running on, our ISP is Nxs Internet. They actually hire a complete suite at the TeleCity datacenter in Amsterdam South-East. Nxs Internet has a large number of racks available in their TeleCity suite and has a direct connection to a number of carriers, one of which is the AMS-IX, AMSterdam Internet eXchange, one of the fastest Internet backbones in Europe. They picked TeleCity as a partner because they offered a good combination of price, location and selection of carriers.
