There’s a lot more to running a website or hosting a server than meets the eye as we’ve tried to briefly address in this article. The owner of the datacenter, in this case TeleCity, puts quite some effort towards making sure the servers are fed with enough power and are kept at a constant temperature as well as enforcing security measures that prevent unauthorized access to the servers.
However that isn’t all there is to it, they also have to make sure their datacenter is placed in a strategic location where it is easily accessible to consumers, but also to the carriers, the companies that roll out the fibre and copper networks. Only with a good location and a wide selection of carriers the datacenter will be a worthwhile business partner for many customers to host their servers.
