Product Profile : Imagination/ST Microelectronics Kyro II |
 |
| |

The Kyro II offers a completely different approach to 3D graphics, and does so with style and competence.
For more information, see ST Micro's Kyro II site at http://kyro.st.com |
Performance: 7/10
For a chip with its specifications, the Kyro II performs incredibly, often outpacing a seemingly much more powerful GeForce 2 Pro. It is, however, not a professional solution of any sort. So long as you know you're talking about a budget graphics chip, you won't be disappointed with the Kyro II. |
Stability: 10/10
We encountered no difficulties with our sample whatsoever. |
Features: 3/10
Here's where the Kyro II lacks. No T&L engine hurts the chip big time when it comes to newer games, although it does support both EMBM and S3TC. |
Price: 10/10
For the price, few graphics chips can offer the same level of performance. Kyro II-based boards should retail for less than a GeForce 2 GTS, making them an outstanding value. |
Overall Rating: 9/10
Overall, we think we have a winner here. It's not a professional solution, but for a budget gaming rig, the Kyro II is tough to beat. |
