Product Profile : Hercules 3D Prophet II MX 400 |
 |
| |

| A solid card, but nothing special in an already saturated market. If the price is right, it's a good bet. For more information, visit Hercules' website at: http://www.hercules.com |
Performance: 6/10
The card performs well in 16-bit, but fails to keep pace with the more efficient Kyro II in 32-bit color. |
Stability: 10/10
No problems with the card or drivers whatsoever. |
Quality: 9/10
To date, we've not yet had a problem with a Hercules product. And if we did, Hercules' toll-free tech support number makes a quick solution easy. |
Features: 7/10
All the necessary hardware features, like T&L, are in place, although it would be nice to see some optional S-Video or TwinView outputs. |
Price: 9/10
At less than $100, the card is priced very attractively. |
Overall Rating: 7/10
Overall, it's a good card. There's absolutely nothing wrong with it, however it's nothing spectacular either. If the price is considerably lower, we'd recommend it over the 3D Prophet 4500. However, at a similar price, we still feel the Kyro II-based 4500 is a better performer. |
