I install it fine, but when I click on the icon, it says, "This application has failed to start because d3d9.dll was not found. Re-installing the application might fix this problem."

Well, I reinstalled, but it did nothing to help.

Go here, Henry:

http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?d3d9

You can download the file you're missing.

Guys, you need to get DirectX 9.0b from Windows Update. Then re-install the demo and it'll work.

I have the full game and am not happy! hehe
I have had it for a couple of months and it works fine but it has stopped working, when i strat it up the screen goes black and i can't quit and go back to desktop, i have to restart the computer. Its strange it used to work but all of a sudden it's stopped. Does anyone know what to do?

Scott M - I had the EXACT problem you posted. The game ran a couple of times but then began to freeze when loading the Rockstar Credits at the start of the game. Alt-Ctl-Del would not bring up the task manager so I would have to power off the machine.

I uninstalled the game (full version)

I removed ALL ATI software from my machine, display drivers, multimedia center etc. (I have an All-In-Wonder 9600 pro) and installed the newest 3.10 drivers and 8.8 multimedia center. I then, installed DirectX 9.0b from the Microsoft DX page and installed the game. Now it works like a champ EVERYTIME !!!
