I have bought this motherboard everything works perfect but the problem is that i can't get the nvidia nforce2 control panel because i want to configure my speaker outputs...i tried the lastest drivers and when i go to the control panel in windows there is supposed to have an icon named Nvidia Soundstorm control panel??? no? or the board isnt soundstorm? but i should be able to get to this control panel even if its not the soundstorm model? because in the motherboard user's guide it says that when i install the drivers the control panel is installed with the drivers...am i wrong?? what do i have to do??
thanks

As far as I know the Soundstorm is only standard on the ILSR version of this board, not the delta where it's optional. That might be why you can't access it.

The software should be found on the motherboards cd which came with it.
If your motherboard can utilize that software then it should have come on that cd rom.

• K7N2 Delta-L (SPP+MCP2, Onboard 10/100 Lan)
• K7N2 Delta-ILSR (SPP+MCP2-T, IEEE1394, 10/100 Lan, Serial ATA RAID )

Yeah, I'm afraid Jay is right on this one :(

Well a few days I ordered the same board so before that I also checked if the MSI K7N2 Delta - L supports 6-channel audio or not. So the facts I found out that this board does NOT support Sound storm and when this is not supported you will not get the sound storm icon. Check the listing to see which mobo's support sound storm.

http://www.nvidia.com/object/motherboards.html

Also there will be only one icon in the control panel. And if you want to configure your sound output then you need to configure that by enabling advanced properties on sound control panel and then you will get the options you are looking for.

In addition to this you can download the latest manual from msi site at the following link and check page number 91 of 116.

URL http://download.msi.com.tw/support/mnu_exe/E6570v1.3.exe.

Thanks and Thanks.

I have the same board the K7N2 Delta, and according to the manual you can enable the 5.1 speaker configuration and use just the 3 onboard (Mic, Line In, Line Out) to plug in ananlog speakers, but when I do this the other speakers are not being used at all.

What is the straight answer with this, i'm pretty annoyed about this as the realtec driver should support this easily.

Also I have installed the Soundstorm drivers which came on the CD with the Mobo, but that has caused other problems so now I am trying to uninstall these drivers are use the standard ones that installed with the setup.

Well its only the fact I can't get the 5.1 working using the analog inputs as the book suggest shoudl happen, I had a KT4V board before and that used the same realtec drivers etc and that worked fine for getting 5.1 out of the analog audio connectors ont he board.

Also (Sexylady) I see you are from NZ, can you point me to a supplier that gets the ILSR board in NZ as my suplier only seems to get the basic versions of the MSI boards.

I also have the same vid card as you, have you had any probs with it, I have had a few issues playing Halo PC with it, slow and jerky especially whena lot of sprites are onscreen?

Gyrotech is where i purchased mine from its a Wellington based company but they deliver the next day and dont charge for freight, and are very good on prices ... no probs with this setup .... well i did have alot of probs till i got the Enermax PS, since then not a single prob, my friend runs the same set up as this board and vid card only he runs SATA drive and not a single problem there either ... so maybe your lacking in PS

So from all the replies in the discussion it seems that MSI K7N2 Delta L doesnot support 6 speaker configuration even on the analog jacks(Line-Out, Mic, Mine-IN).

I just want to be sure of the fact that if you can actually put 6 speakers to work on MSI K7N2 Delta L mobo with the 3 analog jacks (Line-Out, Mic, Mine-IN) with any problem. As I have to collect that mobo on this weekend and if that is the case I can change and get MSI K7N2 Delta ILSR.

Is there anyone who is using 6 speakers with K7N2 Delta L mobo.

With due help from all of you, the configuration I finalised for me is with me now. Which is

AMD Athlon XP 2500+
MSI K7N2 Delta L
512 MB - Kingston PC2700
ATI Rage 128 (In queue to change)

I put everything together installed MS windows XP and my 6 channel didn't respond but I was quite hopefull that it will work so I tried all the drivers on the accompanying CDs but all in vain, then I searched it on realtek site for the latest ALC650 drivers, and IT WORKED.

So for all those looking forward to use 6 channel (5.1 Surround sound) configuration can enjoy that with the realtek latest drivers. You can go directly to the download page from the following link and download ---
"Windows 98Gold/98se/Me/2000/XP for Driver only. For Windows 98 SE, DirectX(R)8 is required to enable advanced features."

http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/dlac97-2.aspx?lineid=5&...tware=True

or can download the driver file directly from the following ftp sites:

ftp://210.51.181.211/pc/ac97/alc650/wdm_a351.exe
ftp://152.104.125.40/pc/ac97/alc650/wdm_a351.exe
ftp://61.222.72.122/pc/ac97/alc650/wdm_a351.exe

When you will install these it is better if you uninstall the all other nvidia audio drivers and components as they will for sure will be overwritten. Once installed then you can go to the properties of volume control and select front, center, rear and subwoofer to be displayed and then they can be manipulated as required.

Enjoy the <<<<<<<<<< 5.1 Srround Sound >>>>>>>>>>

Thanks and Thanks to all of you for the help and support.
