Make sure you have the latest drivers...

http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp-2k_45.23

Then install this Regedit...

http://www.techtv.com/screensavers/showtell/jump/0,24331,3002009,00.html

Now under settings you will be allowed to adjust your clock frequencies. How far... I have no idea!

As long as you don't see any artifacting (random shapes on the screen) you should be good.

Hi CooLSaLRoN,

I used the normal fan that came with it.no extras. got it steady/stable on 275mhz / 460mhz performance 3d.Improve game speed etc by at least 5-10% (check out the stats on my previous post).;)
you need this prog
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=737
then go to advance tab in display props, fx5200 tab, menu on left select clock freq. i used auto select first to check limit then reduced down slightly so not to stress to much on the card.
let me know how u get on.
thanks
malc:)

Instead of that reg edit. would Powerstrip do the same thing? or would it be better to add reg values?

>> Re: OVERCLOCK G-FORCE FX5200
most proberly would do.but you have to pay for the prog while river tuner you dont and its designed for g-force cards.
But if its a radeon etc then it would be ok to use for that.

malc;)

The regedit is automatic and works like a charm since it is setting it from your video card settings instead of having to run an extra program. I think it is the best!

I used the autodetect feature and got 305/523. I reduced it to 300/520 and tryed it. Seems fine but sorta scared cause it might burn up

Hi john,
mine is set at 275/450 works like a charm. i didnt use the max clock cause it would be too unstable especially playing games witch increases heat slightly.
use these setting and you should be safe.but it also depends on your system as well.

Use the omega drivers, you won't have to edit your registry and it's real simple. Make sure to read the installation instructions.

http://www.omegacorner.com/

This is the best way to go if you wanna overclock the card and not take a chance and mess up your registry. You know what the consequences would be if you deleted the wrong file in your registry, right?

Does anyone know of those 'registry editors' for overclocking a radeon? I tried PowerStrip and after moving either of the core or memory up (even 1 at a time), all the colours went distorted... real bad...

ray Stephens Sep 22, 2003, 07:48pm EDT Report Abuse
>> Re: OVERCLOCK G-FORCE FX5200
Jay, those omega drivers have the registry edit incorporated into it if I am not mistaken. I used them before and the same application for overclocking was in it. But... the omega are designed to increase the power of your video card. Give it a shot!

>> Re: OVERCLOCK G-FORCE FX5200
Ray,
You are correct, the installation includes the edit of the registry so you don't have to do a regedit which is what I like about them.

I normally don't recommend the use of regedit to users who have never done so or are not familiar with it. Very dangerous and you know what I mean.

I just installed the latest omega drivers on my P3 600EB and am gonna overclock my TI4200 as my main rig is in mothballs for the time being.

Jay

All the suggestions above are good, but for you since this is the first time I suggest using the omega drivers.
The link is provided in one of my previous posts above and you begin by increasing the clock core frequency and the memory clock frequency by 5MHz at a time and then reboot. You test it first before hitting the apply button. Play games and do whatever you normally do before increasing another 5MHz each. You'll know how far you can go at the first sign of instability such as reboots or error messages. Don't go too far if the performance gain is not worth the risk of frying your card.

Have you tried overclocking the processor first? Ray has good tips and lots of experience and I'm sure he'd be willing to share with you.
Many posts are out there in the overclocking forums you can also reference.

Regards and good luck,
Jay
