Anyone have a suggestion as to what the problem might be? I'm getting this error while trying to install Serious Sam 1st edition. I'm logged on as myself and I'm the administrator. It's as if it won't let me install software but I have installed other software successfully.

I remember seeing this issue and for some reason, I seem to remember it had to do with an old or corrupted copy of installshield left over in a temp folder. Check your temp directory and see if you have any old installshield files there and delete them.

Then try to reinstall your app.

I'll dig around but that's what's coming to mind about this issue

Did you attempt to install this game unsuccessfully?

If the previous reply does not work, you may need to edit your registry to remove any traces of the game or any directories which may have been left after a unsuccessful install.

Search the games site to see if this is a known issue and if there is a fix for it.

Hi all, just found this site and have been looking around. I must say you seem to be a very knowledgable and polite bunch!

I am having this same problem on my new machine:
AMD 3500+
Foxconn NF4UK8AA nForce4 Ultra Board
Windows XP MCE

It happens when I am trying to install Illustrator 10 or Photoshop 6, both are the actual software, not copies.

I have tried all the Installshield repairs and have had no luck, do you believe a full reformat will fix it up?

Also, on an unrelated note, I just looked inside my box and noticed that I have one stick of PC 400 ram and 3 sticks of PC 3200/400 ram. I paid for 4 of the same. When running nTune last night it said to upgrade my ram to 400s.... Did I get taken when I bought the computer?

Is there somewhere I can check the speed of the sticks I have installed?

Thanks in advance!
Adam
