remember this nvidia internal document from march 2001 where nvidia even discredits the designers of the kyro2? i still got the .pdf and this incident reminds me of nvidias criminal potency. all of this plus the fact that win98se has a lot of trouble with the 45.23 dets with the gf3ti500 ( deliberately to make me buy a new version of windows?) makes me pretty sure ill go for radeon in the future. always the same, company goes big and customers suddenly become nothing more then numbers...

Most likely the sales department of MS/nividia, but running radeon 9800 pro with XP pro as shop claimed win98se could not handle the card, nor the 160GB SATA. XP has had so many problems it was formatted back to win98se and a 120GB maxtor drive bought after the old maxtor died completely.win98 handles both drives very well in fat32, upto 50 GB partitions, 160 was in one partition, but at 512 MB, was not enough memeory to defrag :(

Running dual boot 98/XP pro - keeping getting BSOD and the old "page fault in non paged area". XP reports this and crashes evey 10 mins or less. using 98 at the moment and stable for hours :)

hehe, u r lucky, my last 2 games are ufo:aftermath and homeworld 2, both crash in less then an hour with gef3ti500 on win98se with 45.23 detonators. not only that booting with the current detonators takes ages for me, on top 3d aps crash in much less then an hour regularely. no probs with "old" games when reverting back to old drivers. it all started with those damn 3x.xx+ detonators. the last one that didnt cause any probs was something like 29.xx. this and the fact that nowadays not even console games run flawless anymore realy makes me wonder if i should change hobby.

ps: i realy tried everything, even reducing the running threads to the minimum of 4 (msgsrv32.exe, explorer.exe, vxd ntkern and kernel32.dll). when u start spending more time fixing ur game machine then using it for playing, u realy start wondering.
