Alright, since no one seems to have any major objections with Genome, I've gone ahead and registered a team, and joined it myself. I'll post an announcement up on the front page tomorrow so everyone can see it. I'm also going to start work on some Genome-related articles (Ie, how to optimize for better performance, tweaking tips, etc..). In the mean time, join up, and let's kick some @ss. :)

Genome@home Homepage:
http://genomeathome.stanford.edu

HA Team Page:
http://genomeathome.stanford.edu/teams/Hardware_Analysis.html

HA Team Number (you'll need this to join the team):
160172401

Good luck guys. Happy .. er .. gene-ing. :-) Catch me if you can!

Well, at this moment I don't think that my computer would be all that helpful... however, once I have my upgrade in place... :D I'll be glad to help out!. Nothing like breaking in some new components!

OK Dan, you'll soon have all the computing might of a....Duron 750....helping the HA team find new and interesting ways of destroying the human race.

It's a work machine, what can I say. At least it runs 24/7 and is always online. There's no way I'm gonna be risking even one frame in Unreal on my personal machine however ;)

Pardon me if I'm jumping the gun, but I (and anyone other than Dan) don't appear to be featuring on the team page:

http://genomeathome.stanford.edu/teams/Hardware_Analysis.html

Am I just before an update of this page, needing to wait until I complete a whole <insert genetic terminology> or just wrongly set up? The page has updated since I've had my machine working on it, but with no new members yet. I havve used my registration username and the above team number during the client setup.

I expect this will be resolved immediately after I press 'Post', so you probably shouldn't bother replying..... ;)

For me, it didnt register me on the team until I had completed a whole work unit. Also, their database (from what I gather) only updates every few hours, so you may have to wait even a couple hours beyond that.

But as long as you entered the team number when you installed the client, don't worry - it'll show up once you finish one. :-)

Just a thought .. I just stuck the HA logo up there on the team page. If you feel like it, how about designing some kind of cool HA/Genome logo we can use there. (doesn't have to be Darren...anyone else with photoshop skills, be my guest).

I would, except stick-men are about the extent of my artistic capabilities. :-)

I won't worry about it then, thanks Dan. So you need an image that symbolises both the Hardware Analysis community and the quantified definition of humanity that is our genetic code, huh?

Hmmmm....nope.....I just can't shift the idea of stick men now....;D

I went to both of the links, and i clicked on every link inside both pages, and I could not find a spot where you enter that group number that Dan posted.

Okay I'm in, lowly Pentium III at 933MHz for now, but I'll fire up the Xeons later on and see what they can do, might go crazy fast or maybe not, we'll see :_)

Good luck!
