Have you swapped out the power supply?

Ok well reading through this as i have the same problem. I've noticed that most people having this problem are running ATI Video cards and I am aswell. Anyway, heres whats causin me problems.
C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini061305-02.dmp
C:\DOCUME~1\Admin\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER59.tmp.dir00\sysdata.xml

3 GHZ Intel Processor
512 DDR RAM
ATI GameBuster (I think its 9600 not sure)
120GB Hard Drive
OS: XP Pro

I just changed my power supply from a 300W to a 450W and still have the same problem, friends suggested that I change it because it worked for them. All help is apreciated. Thanks.

Alex

ok, well I would not say that its entirely accurate to say this problem is assoc with ATI as oppose to NVIDIA.
However, swapping to a larger PS (power supply) is a good (cheap) start.
how often does this occur?
also, take a look in the event viewer and see if it points to a program or something.
post back and let me know.

A7N8X Non Deluxe
Radeon 9600 Pro
512 RAM
Barton 2500
120 Gig HD dunno what kind
2 fans in back 1 on side

hey i have had this computer for about 2 years and ive never had this problem untill now.
C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini061405-02.dmp
C:\DOCUME~1\Nick\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER1.tmp.dir00\sysdata.xml
someone earlier mentioned the driveres might bne a problem. i use cataclist and i think someone said that it might be a problem. also i hadnt had this problem untill about 3 weeks ago. currently my temperatures are at MB 19 c and CPU 48 c on startup. this error i think was recently started when i started leaving my comp on all night for downloading. i dled about 60 gigs of stuff in about 3 weeks maby this was a problem also? but i only get the error when i play my online game called counter-strike which isnt even, graffic wise, special. i just wanted to post saying that ive been having this problem. also i tryed deleting both the minidump thing and WERC and it hasnt stopped. i even thought about deleting the werc file and making my own werc file so that it couldnt even MAKE a werc file but i havent done that yet. well this sux that its a hardware problem, hopefully its just my comp over heating, and if so can someone tell me if those temps i listed are normal? MB 19 c and CPU 45-50 c on startup

google a program called speedfan
it reports CPU temp while in windows.
below 60 is fine for a AMD CPU, however its preferrable to keep them below 55.
post back and let me know.

Ok well it started acting up again and i tried the speedfan prog. Says "36" on the toolbar on the bottom but in the program, Temp 1=36, Temp2=74 and HD0=35. the temp2 seems kinda high to me..

Alex Massey,
deleting the file is not going to fix the problem, I knew it would not work but I wanted you to see that.
the speed fan program registering a temp 2 @ 74 degrees is suspect. I would imagine that temp1 is the northbridge temp, temp 3 is the hard drive temp, and temp 2 sounds like its the CPU, in which case, yeah its warm, you need to cool it!
Since you have an intel system, intels run a bit cooler. you need to find out what the temp of your cpu is. Get sisoft sandra standard. its a free download and it will report the actual CPU temp that you can compare to speedfan with.

Im getting married here saturday, So I will not be able to respond here till I get back from my honeymoon.
Should be around the end of the month.

Well i tried a fan, when i run a few programs it still dies. I set up a fan to try and cool it but hell its doing nothing!! Hmm, going to clean it out sometime soon. All tips on keeping the temp down are welcome.

yes I was referring to you. I heard Intels are suppose to run cooler than AMD's. this does not mean that if it is running hotter, then everything will fail. they can run hotter and be just fine, although you will pay with a shorter life span and sluggish performance.
bottom line, get a better cooling system on there.
get it below 55 C.

Theres quite a bit of dust on the heat sink will clean that out and see if it helps any. I felt around in the pc, nothing seems to be that hot.

alot of dust on the heat sink will kill its heat transfer ability and it will prevent air flow.
thats a good start.
pull it off and take the fan off of it, and stick it under the sink faucet with hot water flowing.
