well this comment is going to draw some opposition, I say ford, someone else is going to say chevy, honda, or mistsubishi.

these will work,

rosewill makes a descent power supply (PS). there are better quality power supplies and many much worse.
I have used rosewill and have no complaints. I prolly have bought more than 10 rosewill PS's, infact I have 1 coming in the mail now, its the 2nd link above is what I got coming.

Hey Guys,

This is my 1st post here. I have the same problem. I get the same error messages when I run Flight Simulator 2004, It crashes and says that its recovered from a fatal error. Its only been happening since i re-installed windows. Ive tried re-installing Flight Sim multiple times and the same thing. It crashes within the first 5 min of play.

Specs are; XP Home, P4 3.0Ghz, Not sure of the type but 1 Gb ram (2 sticks), Radeo 9200 SE 128Mb graphics card, MSI 865PE Neo 2 Mother Board. I've updated all of the drivers.

Any help would be appreciated.

edit: I Should add that when My brother plays Rome Total War on this system all is good.

Michael

probably a driver conflict.
if it worked b4, and now u reinstall windows and its doing it. its a driver issue.
update all game/video/direct x/sound drivers.

bryan,
OC'ing can cause damage but if you fine after stepping it down for a few days, you probably just fine.

Thanks for the reply Squirrel Daddy. Im updating all of the drivers right now. I also just updated the bios which fixed a CPU overheating problem.

Thanks

First of all here is my sys config

Processor Intel Pentium 4
Code Name Northwood
Specification Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.60GHz
CPU Clock Speed 2593.7 MHz
Motherboard manufacturer Intel Corporation
Motherboard model D865GBF, AAC25827-408
Graphic Interface AGP
DisplayCard GeForce 6200, 256mb,
DRAM Size 1024 MBytes
Module 0 Hyundai Electronics DDR PC3200 - 512 MBytes
Module 1 Simtronics DDR PC3200 - 512 MBytes
Windows version Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 1 (Build 2600)
DirectX version 9.0c

my problem is that i am having very frequent system restarts, the restart doesnt depend on the application i run ,ie even if i browse, play games(i have ut 2k4), see a movie or anything it restarts. i did a through virus check with fully updated norton and avast, the result was negative, i removed my graphic card and worked
still there is problem, i tried different combination of ram modules, still the problem persists,i even formatted my drives and installed xp again still..

i am getting the windows error mesage some times and dump files are created. funny thing is that the system some times even restrt during booting time (actualluy during windows loading screen or the user chooing scrren) also some times system just hangs and stays like only once i got the BSOD saying
that DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL is having some prob.
twice or thrice system got hanged at cmos screen and after restarts i have to press many times my power button for my system to boot, eventhough the fan gets running .

i am attaching some of my minidump files
http://www.4shared.com/file/2406351/abb494e/mini_dump.html

please give me any suggestions or solutions
in advance thanx to you all.

zaheer.

yank out the simtronics memory stick. run the PC on 1 ram stick.
if problem persists, SWAP mem sticks.
if problem persists, post back.

300W?
let me guess.
its ran fine for X months and now its doing this.

my first guess.
that power supply is out of spec and if it was in spec, its too small.

before you start buying anything new to replace the old, make sure its running at proper temps and see if its still in warranty.

Hello, I am having the same problem but think I have it narrowed down, long story short, I fried my motherboard a couple weeks ago and havn't gotten around to upgrading, so I threw in another board i had, Asus P4S8X-X, well the cpu is a 3.06mhz and its only reading at 2.0, and on the boot up screen it has a line of text that reads something about CPUID error with a code. So I went to asus to check for bios updates, mine 1.01 and ver 4 is now out, however, I don't have a floppy drive. Is there any way to do a bios update without a floppy drive?

Second, I have been having video problems for the past couple weeks, when playing games, mostly games with a lot of 3D. the video goes all pixilized with different colors. Now I have read on another site somewhere and said something about over heating problems, So I installed Asus smart doctor and at an idle my GPU reads 52-54 degrees Celcious. I don't know the temp of my cpu. is that a normal running temp for a vid card?

P4 2.0 (supposed to be 3.06)
Asus P4S8X-X
Antec 450 watt PS
kingstone ram 1.5 gig
GeForce 6800 gt 128ram (2 monitors) - latest detonator drivers
SB audigy 2 zs
dvd burner
2x 250 gig HDs
1x 180 gig HD

Windows XP Pro w/SP2

Thanks in advance.

Scott
