I appear to be having a similar problem. I am using WinXP and have been attempting to fix the IE 6 error for quite some time. For a while now, IE 6 has appeared to stop loading any webpages at all; also, the page that says "the page cannot be displayed" often appears everytime I attempt to access any website. This problem has yet to be solved, since I've gone to many forums and read what others advised to those who had the same problem as me; ironically, like me, those others have yet to resolve this issue and have resorted to using Netscape or MSN Explorer or MoZilla or even Opera. The funny thing is both MSN Explorer and IE 6 are kind of the same; so, why would MSN Explorer run perfectly, whereas IE 6 continues to tell me that "the page cannot be displayed"? If there is anyone out there who can help me resolve this issue, I'd be more than grateful to you. I don't want to completely reformat my computer due to some pathetic error that may simply be resolved, but if it must come to that, so be it. Thank you for your time and patience. I truly do appreciate it.

Humm.. perhaps this is a conspiracy to purchace upgrades of MSN Explorer?.. after all.. what about those pop-ups from M$ through MSN network asking to install newer version of MSN? (I had those ads and pop -ups disabled in MSN.. :) Bah! :) )

Solution. Mozilla (Opera, eccetra)

--------------------------
ASUS A7N8X Deluxe PCB 2.00 w/ BIOS 1005 (cause? Dunno.. ATM)
AMD XP 2800+ @ 0.0 GHz 0MHz FSB (overheating for no appearent reason)
(2) - Corsair XMS512-3500C2 (5-2-2-2T) @ 0MHz
ATI Radeon 9700 Pro @0
Enermax 500W p/s (ok.

That never came across my mind until you mentioned that. The solution you've provided is one I've been using for quite some time. I just figured I'd like to actually try and fix the problem; furthermore, trying to compose a new message on Hotmail through Netscape doesn't allow me to have the Rich Font settings (i.e. bold, italics, font color, font type, etc...). Thank you, though, for helping me. I truly do appreciate it.

Mostly I don't like M$.. over priced buggy.. ahem.. :)

But a while back when I had re-newed MSN I had installed a newer version - not the newest.. but oh well.. ..or so I thought. I had disabled the ads and pop-ups from within MSN. Pop-ups gone. Yeah. Had an auto update (forgot to shut that off) that had updated MSN.. not a new install but more of service pack (as apposed to version).. I started getting pop-ups (again!) and found the originating IP to be from M$ address. I think the most annuoying thing was that these were the only ones comming through. (according to a firewall I had..it was incomming so no spyware that was doing it.. HUMMMmm.. MSN was Allowed to..? Hey.. But then MSN would complain about not being connected. So allowed. And low the "new version not allowing pop-ups.." just like the one that was sneaking through. Gee.. where was that coming from and who?.. MSN.. (at the moment of checking things was the only (other then explorer(not the browser) and a few svss etc.. that were normally running processes.

Simple elimination of items known, and of items not allowed to acces the net. :)
MSN was the only item for bids. ..bah..

"You are the weakest link! Good-bye! " :)
I like her. :)

Since I upgraded to Mozilla.. ..oh wait.

No more pop-ups of "MSN is better with the butterfly"

Oh.. and as I am a user of Hotmail.. Why, when my usage is a mere 2% that I would want to pay for their great ..(ahem).. space? :)
