Hi Everyone,

I have a problem ... well I bought a Asus A7N8X-X MB... And an AMD Barton 3200+ The Bios says it's running at 200Mhz... and the box that came with the board came with says "400Mhz Bus Speed Ready"
My question is how can I run it at that speed? Even windows says I'm running at 2.19Ghz and Im told that this proc. is a 1.8Ghz That's off of newegg.com's website So please tell me what Im doing wrong ... Cause I dont think its running at 400Mhz FSB speed ... Did I get the wrong board? and I do have Crucial 400Mhz Memory

Thankyou David Anderson

The front side bus is doubled (double data rate) with the fast DDRRAM. 200x2 = 400Mhz. Perhaps someone else can it explain it to you with some better detail.

As Chris says, you will be running at 400Mhz (200 x 2)

The processor is not 1.8Ghz.

The CPU should run at basic speed of 2163Mhz (196.6fsb x 11 multiplier) 200fsb is more practical and you are running at approx 200 x 11 giving you just under 2.2Mhz (ie:2.19)

Everything seems just fine

mate u have nothing to worry about

your cpu is running at the right speed and fsb. the athlon cpus run on a double pumped fsb meaning a setting of 200 in the bios is actually 200*2=400fsb

So, Hmm... I think Newegg.com sent me the wrong Proc. IT's supposed to be 1.8Ghz.. Cool by me!

Julian that is a nice system you have, you bought one of the best mobo`s on the market. Also if I got a job making $11.50 an hour and they paid me $17.50 an hour I would be very happy.

I have an Asus A7V8X-X with an AMD Athlon 3000+, 512MB PC3200 ram and ATi 7200 video.
I am pretty sure I don't have something set correctly. Aida32 sys it's a Athlon XP-A at 1300 Mhz @ 6.5x200.
Ram read/write number are WAY lower than I wouldexpect them to be.
I'm not sure about wanting/needing to over clock this, but would like it to work at optimum.

Does any one know what would be proper jumper and BIOS settings for this board and CPU?

Don't worry about Optimum. 1st. If you need to, Download the latest bios using the Asus utility in Windows. Don't flash.
2nd. Change your multiplier to 10.5 and/or 11.0

Try it with Vcore on AUTO.

that wasnt a negative comment and didnt require one in turn. I dont need you to get me either as plenty of other more respectable people do. Youll notice my homepage isnt a compilation of other peoples knowledge.
