I am having a problem with my computer. For the most part, have finished setting up my new computer. Running a Nvidia Gforce FX 5200 video card with 256 ram install on it. Running a AMD 2158 meghz processor, with one gig ram with two 120 gig hardrives. Running Windows XP home. I am done with all the drivers updates, windows update, etc., so everything is updated.

Problem: All games have a problem, plus even my screen savers that depend on high end graphics, so that eliminates problems from only games, as window systems are effected also. Almost all high end games that have demanding graphics have the same problem, Mechwarrior series, flight games, helicopter games, etc. have the same problem. Screen savers like Microsoft plus space theme has the same problem. Garbled text and text flashing partially to fully, flashing lines connecting moving objects, shadowing and odd shape rectangle and triangles placement of lines and polygons across screen.

Did find out one thing this past weekend, have old 2001 ERA NFL football game which has an option to turn off accelerator hardware, the game will run. If I start it up, the game is garbled, patchy, and unplayable. So I have figured out it has to do with the acceleration of the card. Simply, it is corrupted. I have uninstalled the drivers, updated drivers, I even got p**sed off and reinstalled windows.

I got a powerful system, yet my old Gforce 2 card worked better than this 5200. Anyone got any ideas, I’m all ears. I have tried different monitors, refresh rates, you name it. So any help would be helpful. Email me: mdn7779@cox.net

hey maybe its your frequency rate of the clock speeds.....have you ever tuned it up before? Maybe that is the case. Another cause is maybe you have not connected the card properly to the motherboard.

or because the FX5200 is pathetic, just make sure the AGP clock rate is the correct 66MHz, Some chipsets don't have PCI/AGP locks, which means they are affected by FSB alteration (i.e. the KT400/KT600 chipsets, SiS and Ali too). and is the memory of your FX5200 overclocked
