Hi everybeody. Im woundering if my ati 9200 218mb videocard can handle those games? I have a amd 1.4mhz, msi turbo mobo, 80gig maxtor ata-133 ultra, can that stuff handle it?

Yes, but you will not be able to play with all of the goodies like Antistropic Filtering and Antialiasing. You may have to play on lower resolutions... but that remains to be seen.

Hrmmm..Software mode at 800x600x16 should get you a stable 15 fps, just a guess, but it may be true..

Well, my 9000 Pro at 300/300 managed Doom 3 (alpha demo) at around 15FPS 640x480 Medium Quality 32bit, and that was on me old Duron 900

Half-Life 2 will scale its settings to fit your computer. If you have too little memory to run at high settings, it will run at low. If you have a Pentium III, it will run at low settings, if you have a graphics card with 32 mb of memory, it will run at low settings. If you have a computer like mine, a P4 2.4 GHz, 1024 MB PC2700, 9600 XT, it will probably run at medium settings, which is like the high settings in most of today's games. Just imagine how good it will look in two or three years when we have brand new computers that will run both HL2 and DOOM3 like they were nothing!

get the ati r420 when it comes out its supposed to b 2x as fast as the 9800's

r420 is gona come out in late q1 just like doom 3 might b like a month dif between the card and the game but so what if u want to play doom 3 at high with aa and af its better to w8 a month

no, 23-26 weeks is when the ATI R420 core is going to be released, that is like June-July. That is Late 2Q / Early 3Q. Doom 3 and HL2 should be released in March or April...

The only ppl that will really have trouble playing Half Life 2 are nvidia owners, turns out nvidia cards dont like dx9, so they are making a mixed mode, you will get half dx9, half dx8.1 features, it wont look as good as an ATi card, but it should run nice and smooth. As for Doom 3 its a different story, all the nvidia cards fly, the fx5900 even passes the 100fps line!

Even though your 5700ultra is a very fast card, the 9600XT delivers more bang for buck. Alteast here in australia it does, you pay $400 for a 5700u, and $300 for the 9600XT...

i got 4100 ish with my radeon 9500 non pro modded to 9700. and the 9800 pro is even better.
so seeing as the 9800 pro does more than 4100ish then the 9800 pro outperforms the fx 5700 ultra.

you prolly got 4100 with a 5700 Ultra and a P4 3.2 Ghz or Athlon 64 3200+. Hell, if I had a Athlon 64 3200+, I would get 7000! Instead, I just get 6000 with my Athlon 2500+ @ 3000+

Yes, it will work just fine, but why do all these people have lcds?? They suck for gaming....

LCD's are the only thing that will be thin enough on my desk.. i ONLY have 5.5'' left on my desk... but will it work with HL2 though.. like fine, but not perfect on a crt??
