jake is exactly right about both of these games they are not out yet, so dont judge them considering betas are always totally different from the final version.

I think that the playable code that is out there on the internet is actually quite useful, because it gives people an indication of how well their PCs will play HL2 and Doom 3, and if they need to upgrade. And if you don't agree with downloading a level of a game that you will buy anyway, then don't download it, but don't have a go at the people who have. They will buy the game anyway, so they're not ripping off the developers are they?

PS: Don't have a go at me for downloading it because I haven't, I want to see HL2 for the first time in the full version.

if these games require 80% of people to upgrade there computers just to play it then i dont think they will get fantastic amounts of people buying the game so i reckon a normal spec comp should be able to play it

Systems specs:

Intel Core 2 QUAD LGA775 Q6600 G0 @ 2.80GHz
Gigabyte P35-DQ6
2GB Corsair XMS2-6400C4 DDR2 Dual Channel

I wondering why the developers of HL2&D3 always recommends for the newest card.........maybe there's a some commercial things behind that..............D3(recommended for 6800)

MSI K7N2 Delta L

I saw some1 playin the leaked D3 thing.. and he had a ATI 9700 PRO and was getting some lags here and there.. but he had settings all the way high and plus that leak was totally beta... final release get rid of this lag.

That was probably the alpha, and you can't expect it to run well. Also, in the coming 2 weeks(around the time doom3 is released). If you own counter-strike:condition zero you will be able to play CS:Source beta. I know I'm looking forward to it, even though it will only be on one map, and it will be a good show for the physics of the game and also the graphics/how it will run. I know I've already bought condition zero, how about you??
