I seem to be having some compatibility issues with the Radeon 9600 XT, so I think I'll be switching to an nVidia card. What nVidia card runs about the same, or even a bit better, than the Radeon 9600 XT?

keep the 9600XT its one of the best cards on the market ATI in my personal opinion is al ot better than nvidia. if your lookin to hardcore graphics gaming and extreme 3d modeling id go with an ATI card whereas an nvidia isnt all that bad but from what ive seen it seems to have more problems

Matt, I would say the equivalent (or better) is the nVidia GeForce FX 5700 Ultra.

I posted a couple days ago about this. The card just won't work with my mobo, as it seems. It's like my monitor isn't receiving a signal at all. I've tested it on other computers, and by all means, the card should work on my computer. The mobo is an EPoX 8RDA+, which meets all requirements. I've contacted EPoX, and they're looking into the problem. Now I'm considering exchanging this one for an nVidia GeForce FX 5700 Ultra. It looks to be a fair switch. I just hate to give up a free copy of Half-Life 2 ;).

I'll probably wait to see what EPoX can figure out about it first, but if anyone here has a suggestion, please comment.

you fool!
ati are good, but their image quality a little sucks. gffx 5900 costs the same as your ati, and it SURE runs alot faster so i dont see any problem why you wont replace it.
anyway, leadtek are bettert than asus, and asus are beter than ati so you can figure out yourself.

Matt you need to read the threads '9600 pro hangs free'. All the 9600 series are having serious problems. People with 9600xt cards like me are writing to the mentioned thread. Its a c*** card.
