I used NOD32. It's an Australian AVS program just like Vet. I heard those two are one of the best. :) Everyone, try it, I'm sure it will find some more virues on your computer.

Re AVG,
I have had AVG since day one free version.
I have ProfessionalVersion 7 which I purchased, and CONFIGURED in advanced mode and it updates EVERY DAY ON FIRST STARTUP of the computer, and priority updates through the day. If I go away for a few days the splash screen comes up and UPDATES, and then does a full check. For those who say ..so I did a virus check....WHY was it not already checked??? if it was properly configured.!!! Most virus checking software is good if configured, but some, intrude on programs when installing." AVG does not".
When you receive or send an email with AVG the AVG icon on task bar spins slowly round, and if you put the mouse on it ,,,it tells you it is checking.
I think that many users are using free versions and do not CONFIGURE them properly, and if they did, the warnings they will get when it finds and stops a virus, would eventually convince them that it is time to pay for a full version and configure it and let it automatically do it's job. Finally my opinion is that most of the top virus programs are very good...but they are only as good as they are configured.. If you look on the Site of any free Virus software it has disclaimers, stating what characteristics they have. etc etc. ad- infinitum.

Regards to All
Take Care
Victor...

I’ve been using the free version of AVG for the last 3 years. My machine has been online 24/7 for the last two years and I’ve never had a virus. I check the machine periodically with another AV packages (Sophos, Norton, McAfee, etc, I’ve pretty much tried them all), and I’ve never found any viruses that AVG missed.

The AVG resident protection flags up files with viruses in every now and again, but I’ve still to come across one that it missed when I run one of the other packages.

It’s free, and it does the job; I can’t fault it.

Computer Associates has a free version of Ez-Armor for all windows users. this is both an av and a firewall. they protect some of the largest corporations in the world. the firewall is based on zone-alarm. at the shop we use Avg on most systems with little problems. they just went to version 7.0. on all of my home systems i use the C.A. Ez-Armor and i have never had a virus get through. on line games,p2p files, and the computers are on almost 24hrs a day. also a router makes a very cheap 1st line of defense as a firewall
