I think IBM is following a really good path. I read a similar article some time ago.
If costs can be managed I think the better idea would be to ship these "obsolete" PCs to developing nations. Not for disposal. But for use.
I am sure villages and towns in many African and Asian nations will really appreciate a free computer.
Though I believe in recycling I think these machines can be put to better use by letting kids in some developing country use these.
Probably corporate giants like IBM can take the initiative. And hey, they might even get a tax break on transportation costs :)

Yea, I have a 486 and pentium that dont have cases or PSUs or anything
i mean they are just sitting there and i cant trrow them out and i dont want to pay Dell 20USD for shipping and i dont have 400 for a gateway trade-in
