Excellent links Rory! I tried it with Opera, and my system was totally secure. Then I tried it with IE and my system was wide open!

I'll stick with Opera from now on. IE is a mess.

Thanks.

Very scarey. Especially with a 24/7 connection. And at least one comp on at all times. Kids downloading all kinds of garbage. My anti-virus catches about one a week on average, according to my logs. Maybe it's time to batton down the firewall.

I missed your previous posts somehow. Too bad too. Those are some excellent links for free tools. Thanks for that! Nothing comes cheaper than free. And so far, those system tools have all worked very well for me.

just making sure your system work, this is a minamal test, and doesnt check trojans or scanner. that why there is a link to auditmypc.com,

you should get a virus warning on one of the links and if your CD draws open, then sort out your PC.

IF anyone else can come up with some links for better virus down load testers then please post them.

Well with some help of my programing skills from university(which i barely remember) and some firends, ive made my pc total hacker/trojan/virus proof. Not even the govt can get in. Everyport possible on my pc is blocked. All security holes from microsoft are plugged. its great! I even tried to hack myself from my friends pc, tried all day, but to no aveil. I would post my little gadget(s) on the web, but why do that? ;-)

AMD cannot be held responsible for any damage done to your PC by my advice. My advice is valid.

The Security Advisor has just tested your PC for security vulnerabilities. This security report addresses security loopholes you may have on your computer since your last update. Failing to update your PC security may expose you to viruses and hackers which exploit these vulnerabilities to cause severe damage to your windows system as well as expose sensitive personal data to hackers.

i got this, wat does it mean? i did the first link's test, cd rom didn't open, it found out that i have windows xp and that javascript was enabled, how do i stop it from finding out? i use sygate personal firewall pro the latest, i have avast! 4 pro the latest also, wat else do i need? i have a pop up remover also which is pretty good, ad muncher

I would say its just a standard warning, as always there are ways around your security and updating is a thing that has to be done to close problems with AV AH AS softwares.

I wouldnt worrie to much, unless you can see problems. on sygate there is a test firewall button, try that and goto auditmypc.com for another test, run all tests and see if your open. I know with zonealarm pro you can stop java and in IE options under advanced you can also stop the java and active x , but as sites use this alot it can cause probelms with surfing.

there are other programmes that catch script blocking like Vscritpblocker

link here fro another type of script blocker http://www.snapfiles.com/get/sdefender.html

but you should be able to do this with your firewall.
find CWsheadder on link already with in my posts

script blocking? but that stops some of the safe options from working, i can't remember which ones, but i have script blocking on my virus scaner, avast! 4 pro, but i didn't want to use script blocking because some ie options didn't work properly, with the updates, i can't updates my windows for some reason, i click on windows update, it says that it will scan come and blah blah blah, nothing happens, does this mean my computer is already up to date and that's why it doesn't bother checking or is my ie stuffed? and is this a good thing? i tested my sygate firewall with their test, it detected ip, but couldn't detect the other 3 stuff, info on browser, comp name, running processes. i also visited the site you gave me, the previous pop up remover worked fine, but on the test, it shows poor -_- my previous pop remover and ad remover did this, when a pop up is opened, it closes it straight away, although the window does open, it is closed right away, thats still good isn't it? i also tested my ports, they were all closed

if you get a window opening then no its not good,

http://.scan.syagate.com
is another place for scans.

on the GRC scans my system comes up as very secure, its different that when you would normaly do a scan, its a message seperate.

Like a dick i did config my firewall for my server corrctly, thankfully they didnt get anyware. (topic search "HACKED OFF") but now ive locked my system down it just proves that there is a need..

just of late i have been testing the kiero firewall...

its got a pop up blocker ad bla bla, ive started to put info up on the my site.. but im not to sure on this, anyone used it? found problems with it.. ill start a new topic..
http://www.hardwareanalysis.com/content/topic/26266/

I have also removed zonealarm as it lack useability and control factors.
