I have build a Computer with a Asus A7n266-VM Motherboard,
Athlon XP 1700+ CPU, 256 MB DDR Ram, 40 GB Seagate Harddrive.

CPU temp 40 ºC to 52 ºC

I have changed the PSU but it still does it.
I have installed a system fan but it still does it.

What can I do to stop it doing it.
Is is something wrong with the Motherboard.?

There seems to be another component in your system that is causing the instability. Starting with your RAM swap out things one by one until you find the culprit. My guess is either your vid card (or its drivers) or your RAM.

Your system event log files will give most of the clues as to your problem. A mini dump and general error description is given to aid in system errors. If your running Win XP the system will re-boot if a system log error is written to the "Application or System log file" that meets certain catastrophic conditions in the operating system code. Unchecking the "reboot box" under the "system icon" under control panel. Open up the "Advanced", "Startup and Recovery" tabs and uncheck the "Automaticaly Restart" check box. This will force the system to notify the user of a pending problem which can be checked out in the logs before the system reboots by itself.

Good Luck...

Which brand of GeForce MX400.......

I had a generic model (aka Aopen unbranded) which caused all sorts of strange system behavior.

Many times when the system would re-boot a message would be displayed on the desktop stating that an unstable video driver could have caused the problem....

I figure this should be mentioned...
