The biggest piece of crap I've bought was a Generic 8x DVD player, built by Raite, model 108H , it claims to be 8X but it hardly reachs 2x, then you can't leave a CD inside de drive during boot because windows just won't boot, the drive makes "retries" in an infinit loop (for unknown reason, just during boot and only when you have a CD/DVD inside) and windows waits for it to finish. An awfull device, but amazingly, after 2 years of heavy use, it still works, and reads fine... tthat means it just do it's job. However sometimes when you're watching a movie it locks for a while and after some retries it resume the play. It's the perfect DVD player for ripping a DVD and make heavy task on it (all day long ripping etc).

Why not to mention the best thing you've ever bought, I'm proud of my Slot A Athlon 750Mhz thunderbird. It's 3 years old, and 24hours 7 days a week on. Cool, and for the people who doesn't know the story, AMD released slot A version of the new at that time "Thunderbird" core, actually, all slot A thunderbirds are 950Mhz and there are some 1050Mhz. So in fact, my Athlon 750Mhz was a "downcloked by AMD" Athlon 950Mhz, so I just opened it, and inside of it the chip has 950Mhz writen on it, So the legend is true, I soldered the micro resistances to change the multiplier and I converted it to 950Mhz. It wasn't a convertion actually, I returned my processor it's real identity. Cool !!!

My biggest piece of crap I bought computer was a Diamond Stealth video with the Intel I-740 chipset in it from my local electronics store chain with a pre-opened package sticker on it.But actually,I was kinda glad it didn't work after a I got over it,if that hadn't happened,I would have never bought my ATI All-In-Wonder 8 Meg,never did get two Diamond Monster 3D 12Megs for it,like I had wanted,I couldn't afford it at the time. :(

P3 733MHz slot 1 processor. It did OC well. I got it to run stable at 850MHz. And it's still running well at 733MHz. But that stupid thing runs so hot. I never could get it under 50C. Even with the case open and a fan blowing into the case. I built that system in 2000. Last time I looked, it was running 24/7 at 60C. But it plays games well with it's R8500. And 256MB RDRAM on an Intel 820 chipset board.

Well, My Dell Dimension 8200. Here are the specs-btw, I bought this in Feb 2001.
P4 1.8ghz Cpu
Dell 850 mobo
256 mb rd ram
80gb hd 7200 rpm
Gf2 mx 400..wow..
Harmon/Kardon 395? w sub...still use it now-good thing.
keyboard and a good mouse-still use them
For a nice price of 3000 can!
I bought this one for 1400 bucks
With XP, for safety reasons
And a can of air:)
No monitor.
That thing wouldnt run a 9800 Pro, it only had a 250 W PS. Couldnt upgrade, or it would burn out the pc, so it would cost 1000 bucks to upgrade the mobo and a 350W ps, with the 9800Pro...rip off,eh?
Ran games decent, but still s**tty. That with Far Cry wouldnt stand a chance...maybe.

Cooler Master CM690
Gigabyte GA-P35
Intel Q6600
Evga Geforce 9800 GTX+
2GB OCZ DDR2 800 mhz
Seagate 320 GB

Hey FreshCoffee, I have the same problem about my Dell Dimension 4550 (bought last april):
Dell 845 MOBO
P4 2.66
256mb ddr333
WD 60GB
Nvidia MX420
250watt PS

The biggest problem is the games because they run at like 3fps. My score in Aquamark 3 was just around 7000. Now I want to upgrade my video card but I will need to buy a new PS too. The case on the Dell is falling apart, the Dell logo on the front is missing(don't care) and it doesnt fully close. The case cooling sucks to so I will have to put more fans in it before I upgrade to a Radeon 9800PRO 128MB or a AIW 9800PRO.

Heh, it could of been worse, you could have been like my friends brother, and decided to, instead of buy a 2.6GHz P4C 800MHz FSB laptop, he got a Celeron 2.8, cos it was 400MHz faster...

thermaltake aquarius II water cooling system. AlthoI have to admit, the modifications we made to my mate's Corsair Hydrocooler (using the aquarius II bits) were highly amusing, and the best part is they worked....
