hi,
i've got a tosh portégé 7140; it's a P3 500, 100mhz fsb, micropga2, L2 256, speedstep,
my question is: can i upgrade it to a 650 mhz; i'm asking because there is a portégé version with that exact processor. i allready bought it off eBay for 70 bucks. it came out of an other toshiba (sattelite).
so unless toshiba uses a totally different mobo for both types, i think it should work, no? it's got the exact same specs (L2, 100mhz fsb,...)
only the volt is a bit different. something like the 500 uses 1.7 and the 650 uses 1.60. (i think, not a 100% sure)

what do you think?

i bought a p3 650 from a different model line, but also a toshiba.
