Just a quick question for you, do you know where to find the e-mail address for the Complaints Department and/or Service Department for the Toshiba headquarters? You see, I bought a Toshiba laptop with an International Warantee in Calgary, Alberta, Canada but I live in Shanghai, People's Republic of China for 11 months of the year. Now I need to get the motherboard replaced (and the folks in Canada would have done it on my warantee but they couldn't get the parts before I had to return to China) and the folks here refuse to honour my warantee and want me to pay them 5400 Yuan RMB (a tad less than US$700) to do the work. So, another quick question for you, how much does one of these motherboards cost, US$700 seems to me to be a ridiculously large amount of money.

Now I've written a letter to the headquarters in Canada (ISG in Markham, Ontario) and never received an answer and I have sent lots of e-mails to all sorts of folks in China and Canada but no one has deigned to answer any of them. Do you have any suggestions? I would really appreciate any and all help you can give me here, because I'm quickly running out of ideas and I need the files on my computer.

Sincerely,

Randy Hedges

did you try the toshiba forum?

they don't know much but for things like these they might be able to help; especially since i've had some possitive experiences with their warranty. i bought a second hand laptop of 2.5 years old. it appeared to have verticle lines on the display (verry minor problem) so they put in a new screen, but the problem wasn't fixed, so they'll put in a new sysboard on wednesday. so the warranty is really good (well here in europe anyway)

hope it helped

So I can only agree and add to the complaints about Toshiba's customer service and the impossibility to get any contact addresses and so. I have my laptop now for three months warranty repaired in Shenzhen China and they are not capable to get a simple ventilator replaced. Comment: oh, this always happens with this model. So where can I place a complaint?

Unfortunately.... we are in the same boat... toshiba canada has had my laptop twice in the one year we have owned it. both times it has returned to us with the identical problem. It crashes out of the blue.. and to top it off toshiba canada has been rude beyond all reason. I do not appreciate being spoken to like a small child. Hopefully enough people will be upset, that toshiba may realize that they are seriously injuring their reputation.
