I'm trying to build my first AMD machine. and am having a problem: NO VIDEO DISPLAY.
I have tried another AGP type card with no luck. I've tried 2 old PCI video cards with the same luck.NONE.
I've used 2 different monitors.no luck.
I've reseated memory & CPU nothing changed.
things appear to power up but I get nothing on the monitor.
the current configuration is:
1 ) 400wt PSU
1 ) Shuttle AK32VN motherboard
1 ) ULTRA 512MB DDR pc2100
1 ) Diamond Stealth S100 Radeon 9600SE AGP Video Card
1 ) FDD
1 ) Seagate 160GB 8mb harddrive
I need a video display so I can use the seagate drive formatting utility.
I went to that site to check the ps wattage needed, and have plenty of power.
I've built many INTEL processor computers but, never an AMD, I heard they were easier and the price was definitely easier to take. Any help in this matter would be much appreciated.
Thanks for your time in advance, Christian Hanner

can you get into your bios settings?try resetting your bios with the jumper on your board, seeing as your board is a 4x agp and your graphics card is an 8x maybe its in your settings,(but it should work anyway)do you have 1 or 2 sticks of ram,try using one of your buddy's ram,if you have two,use 1 at a time,do you get any beeps when your puter starts?

Work smarter,Not harder :)

well as I said in my original post, I can't get video display so I can't visually & with mouse change anything but I know right exactly where the specific jumpers on the MOBO are. I noticed something in the ways of jumpers on the graphics card too, but am weary of messing with them.I'll try the jumpers on the MOBO and can pull 512mb of my corsair 3200 XMS memory out of my main computer and will try the memory swap you suggested. I get no beeps, all the guts(CPU fan,Case Fans,FDD,etc) appear to power up though.
Thanks for all the input Haywire!

fingers crossed,
Christian Hanner

I also tried an old school PCI graphics cards, and nothing still.I'm getting frustrated with this because I don't know what to do and really wish I had another similar CPU to test on the board. anyone wanna help or got any extra insight into this setup jump in! I NEED Help fast!

Thanks all, Christian Hanner

I contacted shuttle and am getting a replacement MOBO and CPU from the reseller I purchased them from.
I'll keep everyone posted on any successes or failures when I get the replacement parts.

Later Everyone, Christian Hanner

Maybe i'm a little bit late, but didn't you forget to switch the jumper(JP2) on your motherboard to 133mhz?Greetz. Tonny

I'm still having problems getting a video display anyone with a functional setup that has similar components, jump in and let me know what you did to overcome any difficulties.

Thanks in advance, Christian Hanner
