does the BIOS see the new WD when installed as a storage drive? Does it see all 640Gigs?

If it doesn't see the disc in the drive it doesn't sound like a hard drive problem but with either the disk itself or the CD/DVD ROM. Got a different ROM you can try?

Loved the angry hippy rants on spam etc :) Spent hours there!

I have just left the Ubuntu install in place, and I would guess the 640 will be detected as a secondary drive under Ubuntu - and perhaps under XP as well - although I am never gonna know, as I am not going to back to XP on that system!

Hi hello

I also had this problem before with my laptop. I dont know if you have repaired your pc as of now. What I did was I just simply changed my memory(RAM) and my unit works just fine. I hope that my experience could also help someone out there.
