hiya

could somebody help
i have just installed a CD-RW and Im trying to get 1 CDROM to be Master and other to be Slave, but dont really know how.

i went into my setup utilitys at start(when comp starts up press delete)
and in the Standerd CMOS setup ive set it to

Pri Master -- AUTO
Pri Slave -- AUTO (this one only has 2 options there ' not installed or auto)
Sec Master -- AUTO
Sec Slave -- AUTO

In the Advance setup is reads

Quick boot disk -- ENABLED
1st boot device --IDE-0
2nd boot device --IDE-1
3rd boot device -- CDROM
S.M.A.R.T for hard drive -- ENABLED
floppy drive swap -- DISABLED
floppy drive seek -- DISABLED

is the quick boot and the 1st, 2nd, 3rd set correctly as i cant get both CDROMS to work together
what should my boot devices be set at?
or do i need Drives?

Check the master/slave jumpers on the back of the drives.
Also set floppy (if you have one) or hdd as 1st and second boot (according to your preference) and cdrom as 3rd boot.

Abit IC7
P4 2.8 800fsb w/HT
Volcano 7+
pc 4000 512mb
40 Gb 7200 rpm

If it's worth doing, then it's probably illegal.

on the back of the cdrom's just set the jumpers to master than slave. preferably set the cdrw to master and the rom to slave.
you can also set both to cable select, which means the the drive you plug in at the very end of the cable will be master and the plug in the middle of the cable will be slave

Make sure both optical drives are on the same cable and as above set the writer to master and the plain rom to slave using the small jumpers on the back of the drives beside the cable plugs - best done out of the box!

Good luck
