Hi Everybody!!!

I request your help for overclocking my cpu, which tool i have to use and how should i do it!!!
My specs are:

Processor: AMD Athlon XP1800+ (running now at 1150mhz (100mhz x 11.5) due to system reboot)
Motherboard: PC Chips based on the M810 L SiS Chipset w/AGP slot runnig at x1(due to system unestability)
AGP Card: Nvidia GeForce 4 Mx440 64Mb AGPx8
RAM: 256 mb

My needs are not more than 1.8 Ghz, the problems is that my system dies when i try to use it on that speed, I think that rising the core voltage (according to what i've read) would result in a more stable system... please help!!!

Thanks!!!

Also, the only "tools" used to overclock a processor are bios, and a good heatsink/fan combo.

But... is there a way to rise the core voltage?

The stock speed for the 1800+ is 1.53ghz (11.5x133fsb) Take the overclock about 5 fsb at a time and test it every time to make sure its stable.

Airman Go to their (PCCHIPS) site and look at the fine print on the bottom. It says

I know because I have an PCCHIPS M952 board running on my sons computer, and an ECS P4VXASD2+ board in my closet. They make a very sturdy product, but as a rule lack the good bells and whistles for OCing

Sergio, I just looked at your boards manual. How did you get the integrated onboard duron processor off the board? And no that board doesn't offer the option to change the V Core voltage. Are you sure it's an M810L? The board is built for a Duron and only supports a FSB 200MHz not 266MHz like the XP 1800+. Dude, if the info you gave is right, you need to do some more homework before you think about doing any OCing to this system. You aren't even running a compatable processor. No wonder. I'm surprised it even boots ups!

Payton.... I have the manual in my hands... on the cover appears: "PC266 systemboard" logo in red, white, black. "Socket A... M810 series USER'S MANUAL".
Inside i can find... "This mainboard has a Socket-462 processor socket for an AMD K7 type CPUs. You can install any one of these processors on the mainboard." the next page says "Supports AMD Athlon XP/Athlon/Duron processors" "Supports 200/266 Mhz Front-Side Bus"

Could you please tell me... I really have the wrong mobo.. if that so.. which one would you recommend me?
Thanks for your post

Ok Sergio in your first post you said it was an 810L. The 810L doesn't support Athlons. Go to this link and look

http://www.pcchips.com.tw/PCCWeb/Products/ProdMBModel.aspx?Cat...mp;LanID=0

There are 4 different 810 series boards. Some support Athlon, some don't Now go to the first link and download the users manual for the 810L. It should be exactly the same as yours. Go to page 5 and read the specs for the 810L. Something is wrong. Open your case and see what the mobo is labeled as. Then look for the version number. If it's labeled the same as the ECS boards, it will be tiny writing on the very corner closest to the PCI slots. It will say v.9.0a or v.7.5c or somethink. Find the version number and post back.

ya my Bros ECS P4VXMS with the P4 Williamanette 1.7 GHz, the Multiplier appears to be unlocked, ya ECS makes a sturdy board but i think they should make em sturdier to handle overclocking and extreme tweaking.

i mean you basically have to get a Engineering sample from Intel to have that other ability to overclock.

Payton, I didn't find anything near the PCI slots.
The BIOS says "686... AMIBIOS... BG83... 0910" and that's on a sticker, I can't read what says behind it
