I havn't even played Doom 3 and i'm boared of it all ready.

If I see another "will this run doom 3', 'what do I do when I get to.....', 'how far have I got' ect ect. I'm going to throw my computer out the window.

There must be almost 20 threads on the game posted in the last few days.

Soon this forum will have to be renamed Doom3Analysis.

LOL! Doom3Analysis. Ummm yeah, to all you Doom 3 fanatics out there, don't be p**sed off at this post, but this is the truth. Doom 3....sucks.... It's extremely scary IMHO (lol im 13) and is just plain boring after the first 30 minutes. I'm never playing it again, and am hopefully going to be able to sell it to my friend for full price. It sucks. Too scary. Bad for your nerves. Too much blood. Too many dead bodies. Makes me cry in my sleep (if I get any)...;):);):)

Hi ObergefreitesANSTARREN] -

I'm not disputing that its a excelent game, and games like Doom 3 are great for everyone, even people who arn't gamers.

Games like Doom push the bounderys of hardware, especialy GPUs. Plus all the gamers buying high performance hardware allows manufactures to bring prices down, which benifits everyone.

I'm all for games, just in moderation.

I really doubt that this will stop D3 and HL2 posts. Anyway, you guys are missing the biggest point!!! When HL2 comes out it'll be all HL2 vs D3. "That one has better monsters!", "Oh yeah, but this one has better teacups! Look at them textures!"

LOL... hehehe

You are right about 1 thing, this is a hardware website, however, hardware is nothing without the software, so there is every right to talk about software. Doom3 and video cards coincide.

Anywayz I spent 2 hours last night playing doom3, and whats my impression on it? It great, needs a really powerfully Video card to run, graphics are great, environment and atmosphere is brilliant, so is the sounds and cut scenes. However, gameplay is linear, go through 1 door to reach another door, basic shoot and blast. Far Cry allows you to do a mission is many different ways, or to get to a point in many different ways. The AI of the monsters are no where as smart as halo or HL. they basically just come at you. While Halo/HL they will wait/hide then chase you etc. The puzzel element/level design is no where as good as HL. The story line is no way as good as Deus Ex, it basic you just have to survive. Its a great game and you should play it, but when you have HL, Deus Ex, Far Cry, Halo, Call of Duty to compare it too, it doesnt shine. Just my opinon. :)

WOAH!
I just noticed a playboy ad at the top of the page... WTF SANDER!?

One quick comment on Doom3 and HL2 and the graphics:
HL2 will most likely have much better texturing, but it wont have all the fancy bumpmapping and other stuff that make doom3 look good. HL2 wil also probably have much more geometric detail than Doom3, but again, the bumpmapping in Doom3 mostly make up for this.

I grabbed the game, and am still undecided about wether or not I like it.
The fact that mosters just constantly appear and give you no time to react in tiny little halls and such kind of p**s me off. The spider guys are really bad about that, and I end up wasting tons of ammo on them!

I am much more inclined to the HL style of gameplay; shoot a couple of people, firgure some sort of puzzle out, shoot some more people, get a little taste of plot, etc.

What Playboy Ad?:)
Well, sounds like this one is just another game, or everyone was insanely hyped about the game, and said it sucked because it was the same as FarCry?hmm...
I still got to play it, or the demo.
When was the demo coming out anyway?
