But after it goes gold, they send th game to a plant, where the press the discs (they don't burn discsm they press them, with a big metal dealie)
then they packagae and ship and then you buy

I think michael means Platinum, Im sure it goes platinum when it sells 1 million copys, not much nowdays as the game usually still costs a few quid, but I remember my Amstrad CPC 464 days when the price went from 9.99 down to 1.99, Ahhhh those were the days you will never beat manic miner with its 3 buttons left/right and jump.

record albums go gold after a certain album of sales

all though ive seen computer games come out "gold edition" (rainbow six for example)
its usually just a fancy term for "collectors edition" and nothing more

however if a game goes gold in development (HL2 will go gold soon hopefully) it means its ready and being shipped off to press.
