When I go to my Bios under Hardware Monitor it gives me a red number on my power fan speed. It's running at around 1630RPM. Sth wrong or is it normal for that number to be displayed in red ? Didn't think so anyway.

1600rpm is really slow, i would say that, that fan is toast, replace it. goto http://www.newegg.com or http://www.xoxide.com for a new fan.

the RPM is set up to display red when it drops below a certain number, sometimes you can change this value.

For example on my computer I have the CPU fan set to aleart if it drops below 3000rpm and the case fans to aleart if they go below 2000.

1600rpm is very slow and the fan probably needs replacing.

Any way to find out if it's gonna hurt my system if I don't replace it?
I mean cpu is running at 50C, but it's the power fan, I know.

WTF, just downloaded SANDRA Stanard and it's telling me a speed of 6xxxrpm, what would be completely fine. But my bios is still telling me 16xxrpm. How can I find out the real speed ?

It could be that your system's fan is running slower in the BIOS because it isn't working as hard as it is in Windows. However, I doubt this to be the case. One way you could tell for sure would be to open up the case and see if you could see/hear speed changes (by actually observing the fan) in-between BIOS RPM readings and those taken in Windows.

If they appear to be similar than I'd replace the fan just to be on the safe side. Fans cost about $5-$40 USD but they're still much cheaper than replacing a toasted CPU.

my computer beeps when it gets to a very low RPM 3,000 right now its 6,476 RPM which it is totally a loud beast. Ive had my fan at 2700 RPM before thats with only 2 pin connections to the 3 pin. Did some mod work and added the black cable to 3 pin connector with soddering work and walla back to 6,000RPM. I dont think thats the case with your computer fan but I noticed that I could see the fan rotation and sound was low so inspect it with your eyes and ears and see or compare with other fans in your system.

My temps went to 48C on intel procs and it never goes above 32 on idle so a quick restart didnt fix it but I rested my computer and opened and inspect and was running up again at 32'c.
