Casper, dude.... How is he going to use a PCI-e card when he doesn't have PCI-e interface? Think and read, buddy. But anyway...

Yes, the 6600GT is released. You can currently find it at http://www.newegg.com.

Sincerely,
Kash

hmmmm lordie i searched Newegg for 6600GT it comes with two cards..i.e. Leadtek and XFX...

XFX is very expensive ...6600GT = 245$
and funny thing is i got my 9800pro card for $212 from allstarshop...and now i checked it again..its been selling at 225$ ..and i've seen that same card going down to 198.50$ :D

may be they thought 9800pro is a healthy competitor for 6600GT..so why not up the prices :)

Beacuse Geforce 6600 GT kick Radeon 9800 PRO ass period. IT's on par with Radeon 9800 XT

Read Sander's review of Geforce 6600 GT. That is all you need to know that it kick Radeon 9800 PRO and nearly beat Radeon 9800 XT in every gaming test. Man when Radeon 9800 XT first came out, it cost like 300 buck. And now when Geforce 6600 GT first came out, it cost around 220 buck. Amazaing huh?

Yea i agree...earlier i only heard about it...that 6600GT is powerful than 9800pro (also i did mentioned in my post at the first page) and now that i've seen it...so yea my suggestion also goes to 6600GT

____________
Conclusion:

Best Budget card = 6600GT...leads good over 9800pro

Casper looking at ur statements here i feel they were said in sarcastic manner.....u own a Nvidia card btw?

well the 9800 pro is still a good healthy card for gaming . i expect it ot remain in the market as a good gaming card for another 1 year if agp survives that long

The 6600GT is "on par" with the 6800LE. The 9800Pro/XT is below both these cards, as they should be. I would be looking for a 6800NU, which will kill everyone of these cards mentioned if I were you.

I don't know how much they cost.(279USD) :P I would look around for a Leadtek one as I heard they can be unlocked. But there are a lot of good brands out there. XFX, MSI, Gainward, Leadtek, BFGOC.

A GT? Maybe. A NU, sure. You do need a bigger psu, and i would recommend getting 1gb or 512 of ram, or something higher.

No Curtis, you will run into a bottleneck. It won't be big enough to matter, though.

By running a 3.2e (Prescott) processor, overclocked, or an Athlon64 chip you will gain, maybe, and I this is a big maybe, 500-600 points in 3dMark '05. And that is a HUGE maybe.

With your processor, at the speed it's at, and a 6800GT, you'll be able to run Doom3 @ 1280x1024 like there's no tomorrow. And there will be a tomorrow. A tomorrow of gaming bliss.

Get the 6800GT, if you can, and be happy: You just got a 6800Ultra for $100 less... lol

Sincerely,
Kash
