Hi everyone!
Like the topic starter, I also fell for the 3.12 bios update yesterday and wish I saw this topic a bit earlier. I've tried to download the older bios from the url posted a few pages back, but for some reason, I can't seem to get that file from HP's server. It downloads but the filesize shows 0kb and cant be run. If anyone still has the 3.07 bios and could upload it somewhere, I would be really grateful.
Thanks in advance!

>> A7N8X-LA BIOS 3.07 and HP 3970
I have just received confirmation from another user that A7N8X-LA with BIOS v3.07 gives USB communication problems with HP 3970 scanners. I wonder whether other users experienced similar problems with other scanners or USB devices. HP should definitely release a decent A7N8X-LA BIOS without lock-ups or USB bugs (with their peripherals!).

A few of us are still looking for this SP24001.exe file and HP seems to have replaced the one they had with an empty file... So if anyone still have it, I would be really grateful if you could mail it to Kyojiro@gmail.com
Thanks in advance!

To Davide:

I haven't had any problems with Bios 3.07 & USB. I'm using a scanner (Visioneer 4400), a printer, SD card reader, etc without any problems.

Ugh, my apologies for those who tried to send me that bios.
It turns out that my gmail blocks off incoming .exe files so if possible, can you resend with a renamed file extension to something casual like... media formats (avi, mpg etc)
I don't think gmail accepts any archives either like zip...
Sorry for the inconvenience!

Hello Larry,

I have also some extra USB devices such as an Epson C40UX printer and Philips Vesta PRO camera. They run quite smoothly. The USB communication problem, confirmed also by another user, seems related to the HP 3970 scanner.

Best Regards

Davide

Yes, Steve !

In a moment of bad frustration at not being able to reload 3.07, I tried 3.21 instead. It's my frontiersman's blood.

Now I'm sniffing around in the woods for a replacement because my MB A7N8X-LA, variant FOCUS, is dead.

Anyone who has the 3.07 version of that BIOS and could send it to me? Please!

Please rename the file so it won't get stripped when it goes through my ISP.

Hi all, I too have an Asus A7N8X-LA MOBO, but mine got fried! : (

I want a replacement board that will be ok for my Athlon XP 3000+, take PC 3200 RAM, have the connections for the 4 rear USB ports and the 2 front USB ports, and also, fit into a Micro/Mini tower case. Any suggestions would be very appreciated.

Thanks.
