I tried the registry hack, no luck
I tried to use a linux box and a macbook to format, no luck.
This program took about 5 seconds to reformat the drive and now it works perfect.

PS: This was a Patriot xporter 2 gig drive
I have tried almost all the sugestions on this forum and a lot of others forum, until this problem drived me crazy and i almost broke my usb flash. Today i tried this solution and it's the only thing that worked...  .

I can't find StorageDevicePolicies in My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorageDevicePolicies.
What should I do?

Could somebody please help
My laptop only opens my flashdisk and no other flashdisk when i insert other flashdisk it gives that option of locating driver software for the flah then if you please enter says cannot find software insert disk or search online for driver software i think the must have been a virus which changed settings that when a flash is plugged in the driver software is not loaded/doesnt run one guy said there is a problem with the registry.What happened before is that i used windows repair to undo certain changes that worked 4 a while then again there problem continued now if i do windows restore the dates are too recent they are not restore dates of a time before i had the problems
