I just put in 512mb DDR 400 Corsair ram into my computer making it 1024 now. I got an identical stick so dual channel would come into effect. After I installed the ram and booted up I got this message. Serial Presence Detect(SPD) device data missing or inconclusive, "Properly programmed SPD device Data is required for reliable operation, DDR 266Mhz memory assumed at slowest settings." Then it said Dual Channel requires identical memory. Is it saying this last message to acknowledge thats Dual channel is working or that my sticks arent identical. The first message seems to me that its saying my ram is running at slowest possible speed until I get properly programmed SPD device data but im unsure. Any help would be much apprecaited.

The message is telling you that those sticks of RAM are not identical. So to give you duel channel, it slowed the RAM to 266MHz. You need to buy a matched pair.

They sold u a stick of 512mb PC 2100 and told u it was pc3200. but i have ran mismatched ram before and never got any error messages.Try resetting CMOS with both sticks in maybe it will read them right. If they are both DDR400..Have you checked that stick seperatly to see what your PC say's with just it in there?
