I got an mp3 player for christmas and am still using the stock(earbud) headphones for it. I want to buy new ones but need to know some brands, types, all the info on which are the best.

sennheiser mx550's are great. I bought them for my Creative Zen Touch. Good headphones!

But I'm in need of headphones; any brand would do not too bothered - My question is; how do I get them to interact with my PC?

Can I plug them into one of 3 ports for sound? I've never considered doing it
Also tried plugging them into my DVD-R/W but I never get sound; I know they work.

The ones that came with my player are mx300s. I will check out the 550s, are they earbuds or what?

I baught these set of sonys and was VERY impressed. VERY COMFY with 3 diffrent ear size buds and the sound was quiet well I was impressed.

I listen to metal music, so I need ones with lots of bass and loads of treble. Are any of these good choices?

mx500 (all the 500 series) are great for mp3 players, the sound is good quality and worth the price.

Wouldn't a set headphones have more bass than earbuds? Well I think i'm going to pick up the MX500 series. IF they are not very good, or not much better than my MX300s, i'm coming after you!! lol

Expensive but sound far better than standard buds. More like audiophile headphones and they block out ambient sound.

I too have a new mp3 player (flash drive so low-powered) and am looking to get a decent set of earphones that I can use while I'm on the treadmill or bike (on a turbo trainer of course... not the road )

btw, if anyone also knows of place that sells them in the UK that would be even better
