a:flashrom c should still give you the current version of your BIOS.
a:flashrom newbios.rom or bin should still install.
I hope!
These commands works in nvflash.

DOD Petrus

You're one step to far to get the current version of your BIOS.

a:flashrom c

There must be a check command, you are at a different step. It will give you the .rom file name

You will probably get better help in the videocard section of this forum.

Mike :)

no, there is a command to find the current version of your BIOS I'm sure. Ok if you have the current version, put it on the same floppy as the flash utility, learn the commands and flash.
Does anyone here have the experience with ATI BIOS flashing?
I'm an NV man.

RAID/ NVIDA ETHERNET QUESTION?

OK it is kind of related but a bit of track

I am trying to set up file and printer sharing on my home network I am using the nvidia port and all pc can use the internet OK

Here is the stange thing

I had to go in to the nvida ethernet adapter properties and give it a port address before other PC would see mine now this is done for some reason other PC can map any folder or drive I make availble via sharing but not any folder on my raid drive

Is this ture for all raids that they can not be shared on a hetwork or is it a chipet/driver problem?

Any help would be good or some pointer

cheers

Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe
AMD64 3500+ .13 core
1 GB Cosair XMS (2 x 512MB)
MSI PX6600 GT 128mb
WD 74.5 GB Raptor 10,000 rpm
X-Blade Mid Tower
Thermalright XP-120
2 x Vantec 120mm Stealth Pro (53 CFM, 28 dBA)
True 430 PSU, replaced stock PSU.

Turn on new pc for the 1st time after replacing PSU and fans. I heard the loudest pop. no smoke maybe some smell of sulfer but not sure as wet my pants.

My PSU is 20 pins connecting to the top 20 pins of 24 pins. (as the case is standing up)
Stupid me tried again and everything is working. I have no errors on the motherboard. now using a 20 pin to 24 pin adapter to be safe.

Should I check the PSU to see if something is wrong? Could something be wrong with the MB and not know it?

Has anybody else had any trouble getting the A8N-SLI Deluxe to recognize more than one dimm of memory? If you have, and you figured out a way to get around it, please let me know. Otherwise I am going to have to RMA my MOBO. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
