You can turn off the test to allow for higher overclocks.

Power User Tab > RivaTuner 2.0 RC 15.4 \ NVIDIA \ Overclocking > Expand (plus sign) > Double Click on disable internal clock test and add the number 1 then save at the bottom.

It will still ask for a test but will not give you the error message.

PS - Downloading 64 now, I will backup and install tomorrow.

Good Luck!
Mike :)

Remi.

That pseudo item you mentioned I believe is a RAID [Sil] component, you need to install the driver that is used when installing windows [when you press f6].

Thats what mine was when I installed.

Hello everyone, I have bought an A8N-sli deluxe last week with 1002 bios on. I have upgraded the bios to 1007 but now I cannot get the silicon image bios to appear anymore even if the controller is enabled in the bios; futhermore when I enable it from the bios the mother board doesnt't boot and I have to power-off the pc for some minuts in order the board to boot. I tried to reload the old bios 1002 but nothing, the silicon image bios doesn't appear and overall the sata hard-disk are recognized only sometimes also on the nvidia sata ports??? What's happening? Is the board faulty? I had created an array on the sil 3114 before I upgraded the bios and i don't clear it; could it be the cause?
Another question regard the TSB43AB22A chip that is the 1394 port controller, it is placed on the left bottom corner of the board and I noticed it's very very hot almost intouchable is it normal??
Thank you to anyone can help me.
Bye

Can anyone tell me which (brand) 6800 Ultra cards actually work with this board in SLI?. I have dual Asus EN6800 and they refuse to work in SLI mode (serious graphics corruption).

Any help would be appreciated.

Remi:

Err. I will say again, I should have been more clear, that driver in Windows is for raid, install the driver from the same disk, and it will resolve that open spot in your device manager.

As for my harddrioves, I mistyped, I am running Striped. Raid 0. Any idea what proper speed should be?

Im at like 85m/s

Any idea?

mine is an A8N. but when I insalled nv firewall, i cannot access internet through my dial up connection with my external modem at COM1 port. Both IE and fire fox has same problem.I can connect to service provider but when trying to connect to any site the message comes as eg."google.com refuses connection".This is there with both firewall and armour off. If I uninstall the firewall then I can use internet normally. please help.

>> Re: Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe FAQ
I thought i would share some problems I ran into with the 1007 bios when I flashed up to it yesterday and then promptly flashed back to 1004

Ive got my processor, buss, and memory speeds/timeings manually set in 1004, this seems to give me the most stable system plus if i want to run my memory at the rated spec I have to manually set it since the board always chooses 2.5, 3, 3, 5, 2t

when I flashed up to the 1007 bios the first thing I noticed was that there were no "auto" select options for most of the memory and processor settings anymore. This is a problem since I dont want to know any more than I need to know to make it work so I previously only changed things I understood and left the rest to auto. without this option things get a little tricky.

I also noticed that when i did set the processor settings to manual they reset to auto on reboot I believe it was resetting my memory settings to auto too.

Since I only have two dimms installed I dont really need the newer bios. I promptly went back to the 1004 bios which seems to offer the best performance and stability with my hardware.

@Mike

hehe I just got around to reading back a few pages, Your correct I didnt read that as thoughly as i should have ;)

the clear cmos issue is a little more complicated than an external switch.

If new motherboards came with the old style external battery connection still you could however accomplish that with a double pole switch one side to break the battery connection and the other side to clear cmos.

and it is an excelent idea !
and happy late birthday :)

>> Re: Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe FAQ
I need advise please, I am overclocking my PC and I am curious if I do good with my settings because the PC looks too stable! lol.. I'm serious

my configuration:

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Winchester S939 2000MHz 90 nm
MDB: A8N-SLI Deluxe bios rev. 1007
RAM: 2x512MB Kingmax SuperRam MPXC22D-38KT3R 2.5-4-4-8 (CL-RCD-RP-RAS) dual channel
VIDEO: 2x Inno3D 6600 GT 530/1050
PSU: Thermaltake PurePower 680W
CPU Cooling: Siberia cooler 12 cm fan airflow 111.73CFM

now I tryed to overclock the CPU in my bios :

CPU FSB : 250MHz (200 default) 25%overclock
CPU Multiplier: 10x
MEMORY BUS: 250MHz (200 default)

sistem started without problems or errors and is really stable, CPU temp after hours is still 33 celsius
also I know that CPU voltage is 1.4V and my current voltace shows 1.49V

Please tell me if is any risk to let these settings I am worried just.. because the PC works to stable .. is this the quiet before storm ? :D

Haya,

I read many of the pages, I admit not all :$, but I could really use your help.

my setup:
CPU: amd athlon winchester 3200
Zalman cpu cooler
MB: Asus A8N SLI Deluxe
Corsair TWINX XLPRO 1024 (2x512 machted pair)
PSU: Antec TRUEBLUE 480PEC Blue illuminated Twe Double Ball Bearing Fans (20-pin, i.e. not 24)
1 s-ata disk Maxtor Diamondmax 10 plus 160gb 8mb cache
2x Asus EN6600GT Doom edition ( = same as top limited edition @ 550 Mhz)

my prob:

I get the bluescreen from day 1.

It took me 2 days of reading this forum to install XP pro SP2. It starts up 1 in 2 times now, it's maybe a bit shaky, the system is incredibly unstable, and I have not been able to get it online yet, in order to update, etc. Or install any programs. It just crashes on me... bluescreen with changing error messages.

Is it my PSU?

Or should I mess with my ram besides taking one of the two out? I don't notice much difference myself between using 1 gpu or 2. Same with the ram. It's just as crashy...

Should I upgrade to Windows x64 ?

I have followed the instructions in the very first post of this topic. I had one problem with installing the Nvidia chipset driver 6.53. I tried it several times, but during the instal after it asks whether I want to install the nvidia NForce firewall network thingy, it says "1607; unable to instal InstalShield Scripting Runtime".

Help is very much appreciated!

Aino

>What does your Device Manager say? Do you have any faults?
>Remove the second video card for now if you have doubts about power as it will decrease your draw substantially, this, until you find stability if you can get it.
>Stay away from 64 for now until you're running stable on 32.
>Use one stick of RAM in slot B1 for now, this, until you find stability if you can get it.
>Make sure all is set to AUTO in BIOS other than what needs to be changed such as RAID etc.

Just a few suggestions.
