Sasi-
What kind of monitor are you using ? What is the resolution set at in the Nvidia utility? Right click on desktop, select Nvidia Display then select Screen Reslution and Refresh Rate, Set at 1024x768 and at least 72 HZ to start.

the only method i have used is with a boot disc. so i really dont know anything about ez flashing. sorry.

to create a 'dos' boot disc on windows xp (or 2000 i think) is to goto my computer, a:, right click format, there is an option here to create a dos boot disk here. i think you 1 or 2 windows service packs installed first.

regards david

ps: my problem with contious bleeping when the computer started to boot (with no screen image) was solved by firstly removing the battery, and then by removing the ram and putting it back in. a little weird by the pc works fine now.

Hi merc !!

Thank you for the hellp earlier.

What kind of monitor are you using ?
>>> iiyama prolite E481S (tried both analog and DVI-D connections no improvements does this monitor supports dual link ?)

What is the resolution set at in the Nvidia utility?
>>> i have managed to flash bios and install windows and sp2 eventhough the screen is blury and it is sometimes little better. then i changed the resolution to 1024x78 i think.but that wasnt changed anything.but thanks merc i managed to to come this far.but the display problems remains the same.i didnt check the refresh rate (im at work now).WILL CHECK IT.

NOW i have a new peoblem. i tried to remove the old nividia drivers but in add/remove i couldnt see any except the driver cleaner that i installed earlier. so i installed new drivers ones and rebooted. (i wasnt sure abt this step). now i cant get into windows, its stays with windows logo or the dos steps.

Haya sasi karan

I had that also... many many times...

I did not have blury screens however, so can't help you with that.

What I did does not make sense. Just pull out the powerplug, wait a few seconds, put it back in, and try again... My PC would often decide for no reason that it could now see my disks. Weird huh!

I decided my motherboard is bad, so now I am waiting for the replacement. I had many problems, it would be incredibly instable as soon as it needed to read and/or write from harddisk (s-ata or IDE). This made it almost impossible to install any OS. And when I finally did manage to get XP on it, it would be just as instable. So no go basically...

If you want you can wait for me to report here whether the replacement board fixed all my problems. But to me it sounds like your board is bad also, and so why give yourself a headache, just have it replaced. Of course there is always the possibillity that I overlooked something during my 'headache' and the board I sent back was fine afterall :D

... goodluck!!

Wow! Been there done that! :)

I really hope your right! Eventhough that would mean I RMA'd my board for nothing, cause really your problems sound very familiar ;)

hi merc....

I have somehow able to boot into windows now. each time it start with POST i think!! but i cant see a clear word. but it was for only about 10 seconds then the windows logo loaded quickly ...the blurry screen reduces.
Problems:

i have installed nForce_6.53 and 71.89 without uninstalling any old drivers which i can not found in add/remove.As im using leadtek winfast 6800 GT do i have to install the drivers from the leadtek website. i tried to load the driver via 'update driver' in devices for display adapter (eventhough its only shows just 'vga adapter')

in display-->properties-->advanced tab there is no display adapter. when i use dvd player its says "reduce the resolution of colur depth". current resolution is 1024x768. if i increse to more than 1200x1050 the monitor goes "warning out of frequncy range". i tried mobo driver cd but its says already there is new version installed same in video driver cd installation.

i can not find any refresh rate setting on the or change the frequency as merc said earlier. can not update monitor driver, all options are shaded.

when i try to start the game 'boiling point' it says "unble to detect compatible video card or the driver vesion might be old and install new ones"

still has the blurry screen but things are clear....i think if i can load the driver for the video card then it will be clear.??.

with driver cleaner which drivers i have to remove? (still havent used it yet)

I hope that im not far away from making the sytem stable....but it could not be possible without your help.....from the start basically i been following merc and others guide...SO let me make this work wiithin this bank holiday weekend.

>> Re: Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe FAQ
I'm still scanning through the many pages to see if anyone has addressed this yet, but am also hoping that perhaps I can get an answer to two issues I have. One is important, the other is just an annoyance.

The annoyance, first. I run Windows XP Pro, and at some point early on I had tried installing the newest version of the GeForce drivers. Upon reboot, the system would get to a certain point then reboot again. Fixed that by doing a system restore. Oh...and got new drivers to work by updating my BIOS.

However, after that restore I got the message "NvRaidMan.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." after logging into Windows. I got rid of this by going to MSConfig. In fact, I don't think I even need to use this since I used the Silicon Graphics Raid Manager for what RAID I am doing. Unless someone tells me different here, I'm going to continue to use the SG manager.

On to my main issue.

When I initially set up my machine, I set it up with a RAID-0 set for the 2 disks I am using (2 250MB Western Digital Drives, SATA). My intent was to get 2 more drives and do 0+1.

I initially tried creating a raid set with settings identical to the set that already exists, hoping I could then mirror the two sets. I tried using the Sataraid5 Windows utility first, not from the BIOS. And, when I go into the BIOS, even after deleting the set I created, it's telling me those two disks are "reserved".

I have not found a way to actually get this to work, and am wondering if the software will allow me to create the 0+1 without me having to recreate everything from scratch again.

Sasi- Just load the 71.89 driver again. Don't update drivers after you reload 71.89 as the website and the CD are simply loading an old Nvidia driver on to your system. I really think that a clean reinstall of windows as per my PM, would fix all the problems or identify the board as bad. That is what i'd recommend you do as I'm not sure what is or isn't on your drive and what has or has not been corrupted. Now would be a good time because there isn't any prgrams on the drive.

Heading to Texas on business for the rest of the week so I'm off the forum till then so good luck.

I have here a FX55 with Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe. Do you know if I can run the CPU at default speeds and also make it work with DDR550 (Corsair TwinX 1024-4400C25)?
