Anyone recommend any power supplies not on the A8N-SLI tested list? I am having a bit of a windfall and I need something that will run my system cheap.

I'm sorry if this a little off topic but but i'm sure somebody here can help me. I am currently running Windows x64 edition, everything is running great but there is one fly in the ointment, that is I cannot seem to find any virtual cd drives that work with the x64 edition, does anybody know if one exists that works with x64?

Mike,
I have a 1.2Mbps ADSL Connection.
I use the Nvidia Network to connect to my OCR-812 ADSL Modem/Router.
The Marvell is enabled too, but I only use it when I want to copy files from my other computer via a Gigabit cross cable.
After I upgraded my bios to 1011, I didnt have the freeze problems so far.... But sometimes Im getting a blue screen when I restar the computer. Then I restart again and it works fine...
Any ideas?

Do you have any phones (splitters) connected to the same line as your ADSL line in?

Mike :)

Did anyone else find out what the unknown device is in the device manager.

the instance id is ACPI\ATK0110\1010110

Is there something I have enabled in the bios that I should be turning off?

Simon

The unknown device usually relates to the ACPI driver missing when one doesn't install AiBooster.
E(my dvd drive):\Software\AIBooster\Acpi\WIN2000.

In display properties>Settings>Advanced>Monitor tab>

What type of monitor is listed there?

Then go to Display Properties>Settings>Advanced>6800GT>Tools>Troubleshooting>put a checkmark in the Force TV Detection box and reboot. Once it realizes that there is no TV, it may correct itself.

Third course of action would be to swap your cards and remove your BIOS battery then reset using the CLRTC RAM jumper system. (Power off of course)

Try these steps, I have more things we can try though.

PS - Make sure you leave your monitor plugged in the top card, left slot, at all times.

Yall are the best. I kind of presupposed the effects of your proposed solutions and jumpred straight to the third one in a way. I simply cleared CMOS and reinstalled BIOS etc etc and then reinstalled all the nvidia drivers and software and that did it! No TV detected any longer and SLi works like a charm! I appreciate your attention more than I can say, hopefully I will be able to follow this post from now on and possibly help someone else or at least learn something else for sure. Peace

Hey I wasn't sure where on the forum to post this. I'm really new at this and I need a little help. I'm putting together a computer (my 1st one) and I'm a little confused about the connections on the motherboard. I have an antec p160 case and an asus a8n sli deluxe motherboard. I've worked out most of them, but some of the connections don't follow what's in the manuals.
Specifically, I'm not sure how the audio connections work- there are a ton of tiny single wires and one larger one (9 holes w/ one filled in), but when I plug the larger wire in there's nowhere on the mobo to fit the smaller ones. Also, the p160's front display connects to the motherboard to show hard drive activity, system power, beep, etc. Most of these connections work, but the one for the power led is a 3 pin connection in the manual and the board diagram, but the motherboard connection is only 2 pins. Can anybody tell me how to work out these wires, or maybe post/ send me a picture of the finished product so I can see what I need to do? Thanks so much.

JP

I have the P160 case and you use either the 10 pin plug or the single wires not both. I used the 10 pin plug.

On the power led you can remove the connectors and plug them into the Motherboard if you do not have a 3 pin connector. If you call Antec they will send you a 3 pin connector. Just remove the plugs with a pin and use the outer sockets on the connector.

Sorry, I just realized that you don't need the extra 7 pins if the motherboard supports the intel audio standard (which im assuming this one does since the 9-1 cable fits). The hard drive led, system power led, etc. are still a little weird though- the wires on my p160 don't match what's in the manual. I have no orange 4-pin wire for hte sound, and my power cable is just two pins, not 3. Has anybody else had this problem?
